I Found This Picture Of Baby Mochi

Baby Mochi

While sorting my folders with loads of pictures, I found this picture in a folder of 2022 which went unnoticed in earlier sorting attempts of the camera folder. This picture was made while we still had Mojo and went to feed the strays at the spot where we captured her. Mochi was the only baby left at some point and always stood out because of his beautiful eyes.

As you can see here, he looked quite sad though. The cat behind him is the one that was slightly bigger than Mojo but had the most amazing pattern in the fur, you can see his beautiful stripes in this picture below.

We didn't want to capture a bigger cat so trying to get this one home was not an option, especially not as Mojo was the one seeking contact with all three of us when we came to feed the cats. She chose us by doing so.

Baby picture

I had no clue that my history of pictures with Mochi went back to when he was still a little furball and much more kitten than when we captured him. It's nice to find these though as he was so loved and I'm happy to add these few pictures to the memories we have left from his time here with us. It's so sad he got hit by a car, but if you look at his sad eyes here, at least we gave him around 9 months of good food, love, and shelter.

Two ladies

Our two little ladies are getting bigger and we're at this point where we have the feeling that Maesi is starting to show signs of getting into heat. She should be good for another two months but she's quite big compared to Luna and more cat-sized than kitten sized nowadays. She's becoming more affectionate and sometimes meows more for attention.

We need to bring her to the vet anyway for the chip and passport but I have the feeling we need to address this behavior and she may be undergoing surgery sooner than expected. Little Miss Luna is currently having pink eye, which we think is caused by Maesi and her playing. I've been cleaning it with Camomille and will probably take her to the vet appointment with Maesi to make sure it doesn't need treatment after all. Them traveling together will be less stressful so that's not a big deal taking them both.

Let's hope she's fine and doesn't have any damage to her eye because these ladies can be so wild, it would probably happen more often. Fingers crossed for a good update soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Mochi looks so adorable and you're right when you talked about the sadness, it's kind of evident on the face.
There's a lot of emotion when you talk about your pets and it's evident in your words. Hope it's nothing and Maesi and Luna have a fun good time at the vet's.

Yeah he was the last baby in the colony so he really had to fight for his food I guess because the bigger male cats were always eating from the food given to the kittens which was sad as the kittens needed it more.

I love them dearly, also the ones who passed away, they left a mark on my soul!

If all goes well (Luna's first vaccine didn't go too well), it's more a routine appointment as I think Luna's eye may be all cleared by the time we can visit the vet. We have to wait two more days so.

Thanks for stopping by!

You're welcome. It was such a pleasure reading. I'm sure those fights are helping him to be stronger, you know, understand that you've got to fight for a lot of things in life.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for Luna's eye to be completely cleared then. Have a wonderful day dear.🤗

What a cute kitten! I love the striping in the fur of the cat behind Mochi, like an ocelot! It must have been hard to give up the cat you took care of for nine months. When I was a kid we took in a black cat that was a manx. My dad caught her in my grandmother's back yard, she was really wild at first but became such a sweet cat. She loved jumping, frequently finding her on top of open doors! She was a fun cat!

I hope the pink eye clears up soon, but they sound like a lot of fun.

Thanks he was so beautiful too bad he died in his first year :(

OH that's so cool on top of doors at least to see it at other people's homes. I remember that the cats from my ex his aunt also did that and I was amazed how these fat cats (they were so big) could even manage to get up there. It's one of these things you probably regret encouraging at some point, such as letting them lick your face as a kitten as well as opening doors :) (Yes, I speak from experience lol)

The eye seems calm but not over so we'll see on Friday, will take her for her second shot as well so as she's already there we will see if they find it needed to check it further. After all, it's an eye, much needed :)

Thanks for the PGM :) How long does undelegating take for PIMP? Some tokens are faster than others..

PIMP takes five days, finally done! She was a funny cat, she loved to jump and scratch up furniture so my parents had he declawed. These days I think they discourage that but back then everyone did it. But even without claws she could jump up on top of doors! I guess those fat cats were just good jumpers!

To bad he died so young. I hope that eye is looking better as well.

Oh I had to google that to make sure it was not just cutting the nails. I never heard that people do/did that. I cut the ladies' nails for the first time this week, one was very easy (luna) and the other was a challenge :) Ordered a hammock for next time, hang her up in that thing next time to avoid her going mental :)

Cats are very skilled for sure!

Yeah, sad indeed.

Her eye looks good now I don't see anything weird and she hasn't been blinking anymore today either but we're going to the vet tonight so we'll mention it to be sure. Not worried though.

Thanks :)

I don't think declawing is done much anymore, mainly because if an inside cat gets outside they need some way to defend themselves. Most animals hate having their nails cut!
