Painting over them is a interesting thought, but practically impossible to do fast enough, because they move. Different if the shadow was from a streetlight at night. Which brings me to another thought: paint your own shadow on the pavement, lets say, at a bus stop, and on a cloudy overcast day, just stand there on the shadow and get people confused! Performance art pure!
That would be the exact opposite of Peter Schlehmil.
