Good Friday: Visit to the 7 temples as a family (Esp-Eng)

Espero que tengan un excelente día. Esta es mi primera publicación en esta maravillosa comunidad. Hoy quiero compartir mi experiencia visitando los siete templos, una tradición que tengo desde el 2016 y desde entonces no he dejado de asistir. Aquí les cuento. La Semana Santa es una fiesta cristiana que conmemora la entrada triunfal en Jerusalén y marca la última cena de Jesús, así como su Crucifixión, su muerte y resurrección. Para mí, esta época representa un momento de reflexión sobre la vida y la muerte de Nuestro Señor. En Venezuela, uno de los modos de conmemorar esta fecha, es visitando las iglesias, aunque muchos se toman estos días libres para disfrutar de las playas, parques, ríos, viajar para visitar a sus familiares. Aunque yo también disfruto de esos días para salir y disfrutar de nuestras playas, una de las cosas que hago especialmente Viernes Santo, es adorar a nuestro Señor Jesucristo visitando los siete templos.

I hope you are having a great day. This is my first post in this wonderful community. Today I want to share my experience visiting the seven temples, a tradition I have since 2016 and since then I have not stopped attending. Here I tell you. Holy Week is a Christian holiday that commemorates the triumphal entry into Jerusalem and marks the last supper of Jesus, as well as his Crucifixion, death and resurrection. For me, this season represents a time of reflection on the life and death of Our Lord. In Venezuela, one of the ways to commemorate this date, is by visiting churches, although many take these days off to enjoy the beaches, parks, rivers, travel to visit relatives. Although I also enjoy these days to go out and enjoy our beaches, one of the things I do especially on Good Friday, is to worship our Lord Jesus Christ by visiting the seven temples.

En esta publicación, les muestro algunas de las iglesias que visitamos y cómo transcurrió todo. En cada una, hicimos las oraciones pertinentes para estar en comunión con Dios; siempre aprovecho estos días para ir a orar por toda mi familia. Me gusta salir temprano para realizar esta actividad, pero como mencioné, estaba esperando a mi esposo y, alrededor de las diez, me comunicó que no pudo arreglar el coche. Así que decidí salir con mi madre y mi hermana para hacer el recorrido a las iglesias. Aquí presento una parte del recorrido.

In this publication, I show you some of the churches we visited and how everything went. In each one, we did the relevant prayers to be in communion with God; I always take advantage of these days to go and pray for my whole family. I like to leave early to do this activity, but as I mentioned, I was waiting for my husband and, around ten o'clock, he informed me that he could not fix the car. So I decided to go out with my mother and sister to do the tour to the churches. Here I present a part of the tour.

Esta vez salimos más tarde de lo que acostumbro a eso de las 11:00 a. m. caminando y nuestra primera visita fue en la iglesia de nuestra comunidad llamada Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá. Allí pasamos media hora en silencio, rezando, y tuve que leer las oraciones que se acostumbran ese día, acompañadas de cantos. Luego nos subimos a un bus y fuimos a la Iglesia Santa Inés, ubicada en el centro histórico de nuestra ciudad, seguido de un paseo hasta la Iglesia Catedral, ya que estaba a pocas cuadras, Luego subimos a otro bus y fuimos a la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Altagracia y terminamos en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Valle.

This time we left later than usual at about 11:00 a.m. walking and our first visit was to the church of our community called Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá. There we spent half an hour in silence, praying, and I had to read the prayers that are customary that day, accompanied by songs. Then we got on a bus and went to Santa Inés Church, located in the historic center of our city, followed by a walk to the Cathedral Church, since it was a few blocks away. Then we got on another bus and went to Our Lady of Altagracia Church and ended at Our Lady of the Valley Church.

A pesar de que no completamos todo el trayecto debido a que partimos muy tarde, fue impresionante observar las decoraciones de cada templo, las personas en calma orando, todos parecen que vivimos lo que estaba sufriendo en un silencio. Eso es lo que percibo, además le puedo decir que mientras realizo esta actividad me da tanta tristeza y a la vez me brinda la oportunidad de meditar y reflexionar acerca de lo ocurrido en esos momentos y comprender todo el cariño que él nos dispensó para nuestra redención. Estoy agradecida con quienes me acompañaron y los lugares que visitamos.

Although we did not complete the whole journey because we left very late, it was impressive to observe the decorations of each temple, the people calmly praying, everyone seems to live what he was suffering in a silence. That is what I perceive, it also gives me so much sadness that I feel reliving those last moments of our Lord, I can tell you that while doing this activity gives me the opportunity to meditate and reflect on what happened in those moments and understand all the love that he gave us for our redemption. I am grateful to those who accompanied me and the places we visited.
