My Wednesday Walk on July 16th, 2025

Happy Wednesday Walk!

Today I was lucky enough to encounter a little tortoise.

I was walking by the river that crosses the city, when I suddenly saw it.

I couldn’t believe my eyes at first.

It proudly carried its shell as it moved at a characteristically slow pace, just like tortoises and turtles move.

Look at how symmetrical the different lines and parts of its shell are.

I didn’t want to miss the opportunity, so I got my mobile camera and took a shot of this uniquely beautiful animal.

This tortoise reminded me of the fable of the Tortoise and the Hare.

When the tortoise raced against the hare, although it was much, much slower than the hare, it finally won the race.

The hare, on the hand, because of its arrogance and the fact that it rested on its laurels, had to be content with second place.

Consistency wins over speed.

Then I noticed this shrub with those delicate white and pink flowers on the ground.

It amazes me how the seed of this plant managed to find a place in the urban environment to grow and bloom.

This is proof that life can grow anywhere and needs very little to thrive.

When I looked up to the sky, I saw some cotton clouds.

I hope this is a sign that some much-needed rain is about to come and quench the thirst of the Earth and all creatures living on it.
