out and about - camerano part one

as the weather has become a lot more suitable for active outdoor entertainment we have started venturing to nearby 'villages' to explore. this past sunday we opted for camerano a small town about fifteen kilometers from ancona, our home town.

this clock was commissioned in 1886 and still keeps perfect time

i have to say up front.... there is not a lot to see and photograph in this rather sleepy town... and this should beg the question ...

why then camerano part one? what could possibly require a follow up blog on this sleepy little town?

well the purpose of the trip was to visit their famous 'artificial' caves. to our disgust the two scheduled tours were sold out (bookings had to be done online up to twenty four hours before the tour ) . despite much scrutiny of the tourist brochures and maps... we could find no reference to this requirement.

so part two will be of the caves which we intend to do on thursday .... having booked on our return home

all the surrounding villages are built on top of hills

there was only one bus scheduled to return to ancona and that was still three hours away at 18h25. so we explored the limited surroundings at our leisure... but not before partaking of some excellent ice cream... definitely the best chocolate ice cream i have eaten in decades.

we stumbled on a lovely nature area which we both agreed would be perfect for a daily jogging trail... private, shady and safe... no traffic.
so without hesitation we entered and found a spot to eat our packed picnic.

not the most spectacular village yet we found the quiet really appealing ... we would not have to think too hard about this being a potential home town. easy access to the sea... to shops and with the added benefits of peace and quiet and beautiful nature.

thats it folks.... i see you all go 'what?? no grafitti?' ... there was none. very very surprising indeed.

thanks for stopping by and pop by again on friday for part two.

stay safe, stay free and love the one you with.
