CCC's Street Art Contest #227 - Amazing Anime Art

Thanks to a prod in this direction from @digi-me I have a great opportunity to display one of my passion's right here. While travelling in Europe I was always fascinated by the street art in almost all countries we visited. So I have plenty to share but need to trawl through literally tens of thousands of photo's.

Some really clever artwork I found in the industrial area of Rome (while hopelessly lost). The mural was painted on various surfaces and depicts an anime figurine lying spread eagled over (in?) a city.

Any Anime fans out there who can perhaps shed some light on the significance of this?
