My Garden Journal for today's post is very special because I decided to went and visit the garden site located in Barangay Pagawan. This place contains of agricultural activities not only for vegetables but also crops and other agricultural plants like coconuts and bananas. I was very thankful because The owner of the Garden granted my request to take pictures and let me explored the entire areas. This Garden place is very organic, in fact they did not used any synthetic fertilizers instead they only used organic fertilizers just like coconut husks, saw dust and fermented banana stems. The ways of Gardening is very inspiring much because it also attracts the recycled materials used as a pots were some vegetables planted.

This blue colors of empty sacks has been recycled and used as a plant pots. Inside of this big empty recycled sacks are sweet potatoes plants. The owner decided to plant it in the sacks so the soil can't washed away everytime when there is a flood and aside of that it can carry easily from one place to another. Inside of the sack also contains organic fertilizers like sawdust and watered with fermented banana stems. Almost 200 sacks filled with sweet potatoe plants are placed outside near at the Barangay road and the uniform colors of sacks can make the place very more attractive.

Some of the empty recycled sacks contains a hole on each side so the plants can come out at the hole. This indicates that sweet potatoes are grow stable and the crops of this plants are only at the sacks and it can easily harvested. This yellow recycled sacks contains Yellow sweet potatoes and it placed inside of the Garden site. Just like other sacks, it also contains organic fertilizers like sawdust and rice stalks.

Peanut Garden is also located in here, there is a best methods to beat the heat and to keep the soil moist even in the midst of a hot season. Putting cutted sacks is the best way and the only thing will did is to covered the peanut plots and creating holes on it so the plants can freely comes out. This is also do for water melon planting.

Young vegetable plants are also well take care to avoid dryness due to intense heat. They cut and pelled the banana stems and folded into half before covering it to the young plants that served as a rooftop. Aside of that, recycled materials like cutted empty big plastic bottles also good to used as a cover to the young plants. The garden plots are also mixed with sawdust, coconut husks and other organic fertilizers to make the vegetables and crops grows very healthy.

Approximately there are 40 different kinds of vegetables and crops planted here and 30 local farmers works here. They also do malching methods, they only removed wild grass to the spots where they were going to plant the vegetables and other agricultural plants like bananas. This Garden is surrounded with other agricultural plants like coconuts and bananas so the place can makw it cool and shady. They also used garden nets so the heat cannot directly heat to the young plants also the heavy rain can't destroy or damage the plants and vegetables.

This spacious and wide area is where cassava crops will planted but farmers are still cutting those tubers before planting it here. First they plowed the land so the soil will be pulvorized and can easily planted the tubers.

They also planted vine vegetables here using this recycled polythelene tubes. The tube have lots of holes and some of it are cut in half. Styro foam glass are also used as pots and properly placed at the top of one another. This kind of methods truly inspired to all especially those who loves gardening. Until next post, have a nice day to everyone.

It is good that the owner of the garden allowed you access, without a doubt this is an important contribution to the community.

I liked the idea with the polythelene tubes.
