Amazing how those giants fell, but the earth takes a toll on us all. Pines especially don't live forever, and lightning along with poor soil can lead to their demise. But they gave you some great picture opportunities and nice reflections!
Here in California there are trees over 2,000 years old out in the desert mountains. Just imagine a lifespan like that? In the next 200 years humans will overcome the curse of aging and living to 2,000 will be common, making life on Mars and other celestial locations not only possible but necessary. We were born too soon!
