What awesome scenery! That was a beautiful spot to take some shots, the majestic mountains and the pine trees... What a great place, the Rocky mountains really are gorgeous aren't they? Funny to think that they start all the way up there in Canada and extend all the way down to South America continuing as the Andes!
Elk are scary to almost collide with, they are absolutely huge! Glad your close call had a good result. Many people have been killed hitting one of them or a moose on the highway. I've even hear of people hitting deer bucks and having it come through the windshield antlers first killing the driver or passenger... Not to mention the idiots in rental cars who spend too much time staring at the scenery and not where they are going... Some national parks can be downright dangerous!

I'm lucky I was quick to react. That was my closest call to date on the highway. Imagine driving these roads at night (which I avoid at all costs)? It only amplifies the danger. Thanks for stopping by.
