A Full Day on the Sustainable Farm: From Irrigation to Pawpaw Varieties.

Today's enterprise was a visit to a series of places, which we started at the pawpaw plantation farm, where we set up the irrigation channels in preparation for the transplanting of the pawpaw from the nursery. When we were all done with the irrigation channels, we headed straight to the nursery, where the pawpaws were planted. When we got to the pawpaw nursery, a lot of bushes had grown together with the pawpaw that was just germinating, and we were told to weed them off to give room for proper germination of the little plant.

Before we got to the nursery, we were shown the goat pen, where I saw some goats and some breeds. After that, we got to the piggy unit, but unfortunately, the piggy pen we saw had no pigs in it, but we could see their cages there, which had their feeder and drinker. I have not seen this type of cage system before. But actually, I know there are different ways of rearing pigs, but this system I saw today was a big wao to me because it might look expensive to set up but is still easy and convenient to use.

After we were done weeding for the pawpaw seeds that were just growing, I decided to take a picture of what the pawpaw looked like because there were about 2 breeds of pawpaw in the nursery, which I hadn't seen before, and we had to get a full description from our coordinator to be able to identify it so we wouldn't make mistakes uprooting what is not.

After all the walking around and the tour, it was a very interesting but stressful one for us, and I believe learning and getting knowledge does not come too easy; you have to work for what you want to earn, so I won't call it stress because I learned.
