A VISIT TO THE DEITY KALI AT DAKSHINESWAR

We recently have visited a famous KALI temple situated on the bank of river hoogly,Kolkata,India.The temple is founded by Rani Raashmoni in the year 1855. She was a JAMINDAR and devotee of goddess KALI.The temple is associate with Sri Ramakrishna and Ma Sharda Devi. Know about the temple

The picture below and another picture of the goddess are the only pictures downloaded from internet because no camera or any kind of device is allowed inside the temple.So pictures and their description below which you gonna enjoy are from outside premisses and of the river hoogly(Ganga/Ganges)

You must have heard about the river Ganges.It is the holy river of Hindu.It originates from Himalayas and meet Bay of Bengal near Kolkata.The DAKSHINESWAR temple is beside the river Ganga, we call it hoogly river just before meeting the Bay of Bengal.

We are on the way to the temple.

We are going to enter the temple premisses

View of top of the temple from primissess.The people are busy to have a visit of her.We can't go inside shoes on.So we had to keep our shoes in a shop and also took sweet to worship the Goddess.

Before entering inside we were roaming around the main temple building and witness beauty; some of whose you gonna see now.

You can see this kind of little temple has made a wall all around the main temple and that's why we can see what's inside.Everyone comes here just to gat a glance of the goddess.So you can see the crowd is only inside and everybody wanna spend time there.

On the other side of the lane statues are seen.They are the monk of the math(temple),who serve the goddess in different time from 1955 to morden era.

Monks once served the math and they are remember for ever for their sacrifices of the deity.There are many of them. Let's have a look of some of them.

You must have noticed all them has a common pose. Yeah they are sculptured when they were meditating.They meditated the deity Kali and serve the entire life for the goddess sacrificing their own.

The statue of the monk also got a name plate.

People who come here also have very much faith in the goddess.When they come here ,they forget other thing in life and produce their heart and soul to the goddess.They took bath in the river.

Both men and women believe that the holy river Ganga is pure and taking bath in it can make them throw off their impurity of mind created by deceitful world. Not only bathing but they carried water form the holy river for further use at home.In evry worship irrespective of which God it is,the water is much needed to complete an worshhip.

After visiting her and the expecatular view inside, we came out and felt calmness and serenity in mind. Sorry I couldn't captures her photo.So now I wanna show you a downloaded photo which represent one of her forms.She has many forms and many hands also.Divinity is shown below.source

We came out and now we are in premisss.Now it's time to cross the river.But from the Ghat there no ferry to the other side. Se we need to move towards a ghat where we can could get a boat.

We reached the ferry spot and took a ticket to ride a boat to the opposite side

In the picture you can see a bridge.It is hoogly bridge or DAKSHINESWAR river.The trains and busses can only passes through through it

I am going to cover the belur math on the other side of the rive in the coming days.
