Six of The Best photo-story of Kawan Coffee

Hi there, these are Six photo-stories of my old-coffeeshop that is no longer in operation, each story has its own meaning to me and this third week of #TheCoffeeShopPrompt is fitting for me to remember that the historical story of KAWAN COFFEE.
At the end of 2016, my uncle and I had long planned to build a coffeeshop where my uncle's intention was for the coffeeshop to be a gathering place for his motorcycle community and conduct meetings as well as do business, while I was more about wanting to learn about building a coffee shop - Finally that year KAWAN COFFEE was established in South Jakarta, Indonesia.
Time has passed and the journey of KAWAN COFFEE had to stop in early 2019, then I returned to my hometown in Aceh and my uncle run other coffeeshop at West Java.
Okay I won't tell the story of this coffeeshop because it's too long 😅 - Let's jump to my Six of The Best and historical photos of KAWAN COFFEE.

Kawan Coffee

This is a photo of the front view of KAWAN COFFEE, this photo was taken about six months after opening, the concept of manual brew coffeeshop and slow bar is very visible here, buyers can order directly to the bar table and if you want you can see the coffee maker directly manually with various tools such as v60, chemex, aeropress, rok presso and vietnam drip.
The black room is a kitchen for cooking snacks, the walls are decorated with old-school vinyl covers and there is also a small aquarium on the bar to relax with a good coffee while looking at the fish.

The Roast Beans
The roast beans is vary and change every month, but there are some beans that are always available such as coffees from Gayo, North Sumatra and Flores - This photo was taken shortly after opening and roast beans were in stock.

Let's Drip

I smiled when I saw this photo - Look, brewed using Kono but on Chemex because the filter paper for chemex happened to be out of stock and so that could be photographed with chemex after it which has a unique shape.

Chemex

Yes, this is the beautiful Chemex that is perfect for photography😂

Serving Server

This is a serving server for V60 and Chemex brews, and will soon be served to customers.

Presso

For espresso based we use the RokPresso to keep things manual, you can get muscular with this tool 😂

Okay that's six of the best of the many photos that have been taken.
KAWAN COFFEE was the beginning of my experience running a coffeeshop, many things I learned from this coffeeshop which led me then to open my own coffee shop several times in the following years although until now none of them lasted very long 😅
Maybe on another occasion I will share my story about some coffeeshops that I opened after Kawan Coffee.

Stunning photos, from the lighting side and the right time. have a nice day!
thank you @aswita :)
Great shots; all golden and glowing ☺️
Thank you stylish diva 🙂
That sounds just about right. I can see the connection or appeal of a coffee shop and bikers.
I like that you have a sense of humour about the number of coffee shop businesses that you have had.
Your photos are lovely. All of them!
I really enjoyed the stories behind each of them, yes, I think the chemex is a great photography subject:)
Thanks for sharing this lovely post with the prompt.

I have run at least 3 coffee shops, the first one was Kawan Coffee, the second one in late 2019 to early 2020 was called Kawanan Kopi which was stopped due to the pandemic, and the last one was called Hipi Kopi in 2021 which was only 6 months old, and now I am working in a cave 🤭
Maybe it's more like playing and not doing business 😂
You can't take life too seriously. As long as you're happy 😆
This will be the quote of the month and will be on my studio bulletin board.
Thank you milly 🙏🏻
😆 Hehe! I'm touched that you like it.
You never know, the right person who needs to hear those words, might just read it. So, that could be a brilliant idea 😊
