🍓 {09/03/24} ✦ "Baobei took me shopping for my Birthday!" 🎁 ✨ ✦ 🇪🇸 │ 🇺🇸

🇪🇸 ~ ¡Mañana es mi cumple años! Y como regalo adelantado por mi día especial, @Vanuzza me llevo de compras a uno de mis sitios preferidos: El Castillo, el almacén textil mas grande de la ciudad. Es el mejor porque hace un tiempo la calidad y variedad de telas que comenzó a traer fue elevándose, y actualmente estan inaugurando una expansión en su zona de mercería, que es la que mas frecuento.

🇺🇸 ~ Tomorrow is my birthday! And as an early gift for my special day, @Vanuzza took me shopping to one of my favorite places: El Castillo, the largest textile store in the city. It's the best because some time ago the quality and variety of fabrics they started to bring was rising, and they are currently inaugurating an expansion in their haberdashery area, which is the one I frequent the most.

La mejor hora para ir es durante la mañana y días entre semana, porque pasa de estar casi desolado a abarrotarse de un gran volumen de personas -por la tarde- en pocos minutos. Fuimos a las 10:30 am y el plan era recorrer con tranquilidad los 3 pisos, Van me dijo que me regalaría lo que yo quisiera por mi cumple años y el gesto me emocionó muchísimo (ella siempre ha sido muy buena y especial conmigo); como Crafter y Cosplayer siempre tengo algo pendiente en la lista de materiales y herramientas por comprar, renovar o volver a surtir, eso quiere decir que aunque no tenía una idea clara de qué iba a escoger, no estaba totalmente en blanco.

The best time to go is during the morning and weekdays, because it goes from being almost deserted to crowded with a large volume of people -in the afternoon- in a few minutes. We went at 10:30 am and the plan was to leisurely walk through the 3 floors, Van told me she would give me whatever I wanted for my birthday and the gesture thrilled me to no end (she has always been very good and special to me); as a Crafter and Cosplayer I always have something pending on the list of materials and tools to buy, renew or restock, that means that although I had no clear idea of what I was going to choose, I was not totally blank.

En nuestro recorrido pudimos ponernos al día con nombres y precios de telas ya conocidas y otras totalmente nuevas para nosotras, asi que pasamos bastante tiempo analizando posibilidades, después de todo ella también tiene sus propios proyectos textiles.

On our tour we were able to catch up with names and prices of fabrics already known and others totally new to us, so we spent a lot of time analyzing possibilities, after all she also has her own textile projects.

En esta etapa yo no había escogido nada aún y preferí visitar directamente la nueva área de mercería antes que subir a los siguientes pisos (los pisos superiores corresponden a telas de tapicería y lencería para habitaciones y baños, telas para cobijas, toallas y materiales plásticos): Y fué como entrar a una dulcería porque la cantidad, variedad y calidad de muchos tipos diferentes de apliques y pequeñas herramientas no te dejara indiferente.

At this stage I had not chosen anything yet and I preferred to visit directly the new haberdashery area rather than going up to the next floors (the upper floors correspond to upholstery fabrics and linens for bedrooms and bathrooms, fabrics for blankets, towels and plastic materials): And it was like entering a candy store because the quantity, variety and quality of many different types of appliqués and small tools will not leave you indifferent.

Van y yo estábamos encantadas, nos divertimos muchísimo porque encontramos cosas tan locas como un sección de calcomanías con CHINAS ANCESTRALES junto a princesas Disney, pequeños parches bordados Queer bastante bien hechos y bonitos, y contenedores de plástico de forma de unicornio absurdamente económicos.

Van and I were delighted, we had a blast because we found such crazy things as a section of stickers with ANCESTRAL CHINESE next to Disney princesses, rather well-made and cute little Queer embroidered patches, and unicorn-shaped plastic containers absurdly inexpensive.

Recorrimos feliz y concienzudamente todas las diferentes mini secciones: Almohadas, cintas, apliques, pedrería fina, un mural de tijeras, un mural solo para agujas, la papelería, la de decoración, la de materiales para fiesta, las pinturas, la de ropa de algodón, la exhibición de máquinas de coser, la de materiales para tejer y bordar, la de materiales escolares... y debo decir que todo estaba delicadamente ordenado y MUY LIMPIO.

We happily and conscientiously went through all the different mini sections: Pillows, ribbons, appliques, fine beading, a scissors mural, a needle-only mural, the stationery, the decorating, the party supplies, the paintings, the cotton clothing, the sewing machine display, the knitting and embroidery supplies, the school supplies... and I must say that everything was neatly arranged and VERY CLEAN!.
