🇪🇸 ~ El año pasado llegaron unas telas con estampados navideños increíbles a "El Castillo", en ese entonces fui por algo de material para unos proyectos surtidos pero la amiga que me acompaño me comentaba que quería regalarle a su mamá un centro de mesa de tela para Navidad.
🇺🇸 ~ Last year, some fabrics with incredible Christmas prints arrived at “El Castillo.” At the time, I went to buy some material for various projects, but the friend who accompanied me told me that she wanted to give her mother a fabric tablecloth for Christmas.
La sección de telas para manteles de navidad nos dejó encantadas, lamenté que no llevábamos dinero extra para "una compra compulsiva" pero necesaria como esa ya que ahora medito que hubiera sido una gran inversión (quiero decir, si hubiera comprado aunque fuera 2 metros de cada diseño, este año podría haber regalado manteles de navidad a mis vecinos y amigos, a quienes sé que les gusta decorar su casa para las festividades).
We were delighted with the section of fabrics for Christmas tablecloths. I regretted not having extra money for “a compulsive purchase” but necessary splurge like that because now I think it would have been a great investment (I mean, if I had bought even 2 meters of each design, this year I could have given Christmas tablecloths to my neighbors and friends, who I know like to decorate their homes for the holidays).
✦ The fabric quality was very good, but I noticed that those with small gold embossed decorations were not made to withstand a washing machine cycle, nor were they suitable for ironing (due to the plastic in the stars) ✦

Estas fotos de la tienda son del año pasado, ¿increíble como pasa el tiempo verdad?, 2024 fue un año tan complejo, que la tela que compró mi amiga se quedó en una de mis cajas de "proyectos pendientes" hasta ahora.
These photos of the store are from last year. It's amazing how time flies, isn't it? 2024 was such a complicated year that the fabric my friend bought has been sitting in one of my “pending projects” boxes until now.
¿Y cómo se desenvolvió finalmente este drama congelado en el tiempo?, para calmar tu ansiedad amigo que me lees, ayer por fin pude entregarle el centro de mesa que quería mi amiga y su mamá estuvo muy contenta... en general este pequeño proyecto de costura me hizo mirar con seriedad y sentimientos de culpa, la caja mas cercana de "proyectos pendientes" tan cuidadosamente doblados en esa área privilegiada de mi closet (aka, la que está lejos del alcance de los gatitos de la casa).
And how did this drama frozen in time finally unfold? To calm your anxiety, my friend who reads me, yesterday I was finally able to give my friend the centerpiece she wanted, and her mom was very happy... Overall, this little sewing project made me look seriously and guiltily at the nearest box of “pending projects” so carefully folded in that privileged area of my closet (aka, the one that is out of reach of the kitties in the house).

Kamui como siempre es una compañía muy fiel y un gran filtro de calidad (quizo acostarse sobre la tela pero lo moví suavemente a un lado, y el, parsimoniosamente, decidió que era buen momento para darse un baño).
Ahora, no se qué telas estampadas de navidad haya en el almacén este año, pero espero poder ir a verlas los primeros días de Diciembre y con suerte encontrar una que funcione para un totebag festivo que quiero para mí (tu sabes, con grandes azas y un enorme lazo, o muchos faralaos).
Cuéntame en los comentarios qué proyectos de costura tienes para esta Navidad 2025, yo aún no he pensado en algo más allá de ese totebag temático y algunos corbatines de gala para los michis de la casa 🎩 ✨
Kamui is, as always, a very loyal companion and a great quality filter (he wanted to lie down on the fabric, but I gently moved him aside, and he slowly decided that it was a good time to take a bath).
Now, I don't know what Christmas-themed fabrics are in stock this year, but I hope to go check them out in early December and hopefully find one that works for a festive tote bag I want for myself (you know, with big handles and a huge bow, or lots of frills).

For short GIFs of up to 5 seconds, I use the SNOW app
Set the camera to normal mode, with or without your preferred filter, and press and hold the button for a few seconds. When you release the record button, you'll see a small button at the top that says “gif” (click there and wait a few seconds, then click the big arrow at the bottom of the screen to download it to your phone). This converts the video you just made into a gif. I really like this app because it's a quick way to make cute, lightweight, good-quality gifs.
But when I can't record directly from the app, I download the videos to my computer and use: https://convertio.co/es/mp4-gif/
And if the GIF is too heavy or too large after running it through Convertio, I go to this page to resize it 💙
