🇺🇸 ~ [ December, 2011, Venezuela/Maracaibo City ]
Hello, everyone! 💖 I hope you are all doing well and that this year is full of incredible memories and stories to share on Throwback Thursday.
You may have noticed that I haven't shared anything on TBT or FBF in quite some time, and that's because in December 2025, I lost the last solid-state drive that contained some photos of happy memories.
In previous posts, I've mentioned how over the years I've lost several external hard drives and computers with photos of trips, birthdays, family celebrations, gatherings with friends, and countless happy memories with my group of friends and otaku/cosplayer community from back then (approximately 2005 to 2013).
Let's say that until now, it was a loss that I had accepted and for which I had already gone through the respective mourning process. In the end, what really matters are those experiences, and feeling grateful for having been able to experience all that happiness... BUT SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED:
An external hard drive that I thought was dead has come back to life. I refused to throw it away all these years out of nostalgia, and TODAY IT STARTED UP!

I haven't recovered all the content from the old hard drive yet, but I'm taking it easy even though I'm very excited and happy about this development.
In another post, I'll share the details of how this experience has been so far, but today I want to share one of my favorite photos from the first folders I've transferred to my new memory:
A happy photo of my friends and me at a manga/anime convention in 2011 (I'm the one with the short dark wig and butler costume). Back then, everything was very simple. We were otakus, and conventions meant specialty stores and the opportunity to see friends we only got to see in person a few times a year.
I remember that we were very happy and always got along very well. We were otaku at a time when it wasn't cool, and anime suffered from systematic bad publicity throughout Latin America (you know, Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon were considered devil worship).
I miss those days because every trip to a manga/anime event was a big deal, because that weekend meant buying merchandise from your favorite character or series, wearing the cosplay you'd been working on for months, having sleepovers watching anime, and eating lots of junk food.
Then you would return to “normal life,” to school, college, or work. Before, there were at most three or four events per year, but now there are so many that the annual calendar is oversaturated, although this seems to be a phenomenon that is not exclusive to Venezuela but also occurs in other countries.
This particular event was a lot of fun, with many funny and somewhat ridiculous anecdotes, but that was the point: Everything was more relaxed.
