✦ Most of the gifts that I have been given at conventions are stored in my closet because I am cleaning before the new year, but I really like to look at them or have them on hand and I want to show them, look how beautiful they are! ✦
🇪🇸 ~ ¡Hola a todos! 💖 Espero que se encuentren muy bien y estén pasando un tranquilo y agradable fin de año; yo estoy tomándome este tiempo con calma para recapitular lo que fue 2023, para reconocer y agradecer todo lo bueno y bonito que ha sucedido mientras anoto mis metas para 2024.
🇺🇸 ~ Hello everyone! 💖 I hope you are doing great and having a peaceful and enjoyable end of the year; I am taking this time quietly to recap what 2023 was, to acknowledge and be thankful for all the good and beautiful things that have happened as I write down my goals for 2024.
Hablando de reconocer y agradecer, quiero compartir un acontecimiento que en especial me emocionó en 2023; como Cosplayer que asiste a convenciones y hace activamente comunidad es común la dinámica de dar y recibir obsequios durante estos eventos, pero yo me siento especialmente afortunada porque más allá del objeto que recibes y su valor material, esta presente con el un elemento al que no podemos medir, invaluable y precioso: La atención de la persona.
Speaking of recognizing and thanking, I want to share an event that especially touched me in 2023; as a Cosplayer who attends conventions and actively makes community is common the dynamics of giving and receiving gifts during these events, but I feel especially fortunate because beyond the object you receive and its material value, is present with it an element that we can not measure, invaluable and precious: The attention of the person.

✦ I always wanted an Artoria mug but never found an illustration I liked, and I have no idea where the person got this art but his taste is exquisite ✦
"La atención de la persona" para mí es algo extraordinario que me conmueve profundamente, el que alguien se tome el tiempo para investigar tus gustos o indagar sobre qué cosas te apasionan actualmente, eso es algo que podría pensar que esta reservado para tus seres queridos o amigos mas allegados.
The attention of the person" for me is something extraordinary that touches me deeply, that someone takes the time to investigate your tastes or inquire about what things you are currently passionate about, that is something that you might think is reserved for your loved ones or closest friends.

Pero existen estas personas, hermosas personas, que no has conocido presencialmente o con las que has interactuado muy poco de forma directa, y sin embargo, su cariño sincero desborda en estos gestos al punto que cuando recibo estos paquetitos tan especiales me toma un buen tiempo procesar la situación. Me abruma. "¿Quien soy yo, o qué he hecho para ser digna de tu afecto?, ¿qué he hecho por ti?"...
But there are these people, beautiful people, that you have not met in person or with whom you have interacted very little directly, and yet, their sincere affection overflows in these gestures to the point that when I receive these special little packages it takes me a long time to process the situation. "Who am I, or what have I done to be worthy of your affections, what have I done for you?"...
✦ I couldn't believe it when I held it in my hands. A real Daruma! ✦
✦ The color is amazing and very vivid ✦
✦ I am amazed with the way it looks and feels in person, it is a 100% handcrafted object and yet there are parts of the painting that are absurdly perfect ✦

Tome estos 3 ejemplos de entre los obsequios que recibí este año por la historia y la persona del que vienen cada uno. El primero que es la taza de Artoria Pendragon es de un compañero Cosplayer contemporáneo, sin saberlo, coincidimos en un evento en la capital hace más de 10 años, y somos fans de la franquicia de FATE. Es un Cosplayer muy talentoso y ese tipo de elementos en el fandom que con su forma de ser inspira un sentimiento de comunidad. Necesitamos mas personas así.
Take these 3 examples from among the gifts I received this year for the story and the person from whom each one comes from. The first one which is the Artoria Pendragon mug is from a fellow contemporary Cosplayer, unbeknownst to me, we coincidentally met at an event in the capital over 10 years ago, and we are fans of the FATE franchise. He is a very talented Cosplayer and that kind of elements in the fandom that with his way of being inspires a feeling of community. We need more people like that.
El segundo obsequio es de una amistad que retomé este año, con una historia demasiado complicada para describirla. Las cosas han ido bastante bien después de una larga conversación, y me sorprendió muchísimo que me obsequiara un Daruma traído directamente de Japón (es muy difícil conseguir uno origina en Venezuela, o son demasiado costosos) porque uno de mis personajes favoritos (HuaCheng) tiene la habilidad de transformar a otros en muñecos Daruma.
The second gift is from a friendship that I took up again this year, with a story too complicated to describe. Things have been going quite well after a long conversation, and I was very surprised that she gave me a Daruma brought directly from Japan (it is very difficult to get one in Venezuela, or they are too expensive) because one of my favorite characters (HuaCheng) has the ability to transform others into Daruma dolls.

El tercer obsequio es de una Cosplayer muy dulce que conocí el año pasado, no solo tiene habilidades de interpretación, costura y para fabricar bonitos props, sino que también fue maquilladora de grupos de baile de K-Pop. Me regalo este item que no sabía que se podía conseguir en mi ciudad, son unas banditas para crear temporalmente un doble parpado (más adelante hare un post probándolas).
The third gift is from a very sweet cosplayer I met last year, she not only has skills in acting, sewing and making beautiful props, but she was also a makeup artist for K-Pop dance groups. She gave me this item that I didn't know you could get in my city, it's a band aid to temporarily create a double eyelid (I'll make a post testing them later).
Ella se acordó de las veces en que me he quejado de mi parpado encapotado, de verdad me sorprendí muchísimo cuando dijo que tenía algo para mi y saco este estuche de su bolsillo.
She remembered how many times I have complained about my overcast eyelid, I was really surprised when she said she had something for me and took this case out of her pocket.

✦ It is made of compressed paper and its smell is very nostalgic ✦
✦ The print is super sharp, I am so happy to have such a nice calendar for 2024, year of the green wooden dragon right? ✦
Este 4to obsequio no llego a mi durante una convención, pero sí por una persona que se dio cuenta de lo mucho que me gustan los items asiáticos y se tomo la molestia de buscar un calendario 2024 para mi; me ha visto en Cosplay en algunas ocasiones cuando regreso a mi casa después de los eventos, y aunque no entiende de qué trata el tema del Cosplay siempre ha sido amable y lo encuentra simpático.
This 4th gift did not come to me during a convention, but from a person who noticed how much I like Asian items and took the trouble to look for a 2024 calendar for me; she has seen me in Cosplay on a few occasions when I return home after events, and although she does not understand what Cosplay is all about she has always been kind and finds it nice.

Aprecio con todo mi corazón y más de lo que podría decir cada cosa que me obsequian con cariño (sin saberlo, sanan cosas que ninguno de ustedes rompieron), el tiempo es el recurso finito mas valioso que tenemos, y que alguien te lo dedique de la manera que sea es un gesto extraordinario.
I appreciate with all my heart and more than I could ever say every single thing you give me as a gift of love (
without knowing it, you heal things that none of you broke), time is the most valuable finite resource we have, and to have someone give it to you in any way **is an extraordinary gesture.
Los obsequios que recibimos los Cosplayers pueden ser muy diferentes y misteriosos. Algo para decorar, algo para endulzar el café, algo para mejorar tu maquillaje o algo para pedir un deseo 🙏 ✨
The gifts we Cosplayers receive can be very different and mysterious. Something to decorate, something to sweeten your coffee, something to enhance your makeup or something to make a wish 🙏 ✨
