🇪🇸 ~ El día de ayer pude entregar un proyecto con el que me comprometí aproximadamente hace 3 meses: Una vecina que esta redecorando su sala me preguntó si podía ayudarla elaborando 2 forros para unas sillas de cuero de las que el gatito de la casa estaba enamorado y tenía algo maltratadas (y no solo su gato las araño, los gatos de mi casa también se sienten irresistiblemente atraídos a estas sillas, fue una lucha mantener a los mininos alejados de estas sillas jajaja).
🇺🇸 ~ Yesterday I was able to deliver a project that I committed to about 3 months ago: A neighbor who is redecorating her living room asked me if I could help her by making 2 covers for some leather chairs that the kitty in the house was in love with and had a little bit mistreated (and not only her cat scratched them, the cats in my house are also irresistibly attracted to these chairs, it was a struggle to keep the kitties away from these chairs hahaha).
✦ I have not been able to sit down to sew new cosplays, but I am very happy to take the sewing machine even for something small ✦
Tardé muchos días en poder sentarme con calma a hacer este proyecto porque me preocupaba dañar la tela si la cortaba de forma equivocada (y a la señora le costo mucho esfuerzo decidirse por qué estampado de tapicería le gustaba, fue una larga tarde de compras).
It took me many days before I could calmly sit down to do this project because I was worried about damaging the fabric if I cut it the wrong way (and it took the lady a lot of effort to decide which upholstery pattern she liked, it was a long afternoon of shopping).

Estas sillas son extrañas, sus patas y su espaldar no es recto, y el ancho de la parte superior del espalda no es el mismo que de la parte inferior. Por esa razón los bonitos patrones o tutoriales que encontraba en Pinterest no les ajustada bien.
These chairs are strange, their legs and backrest is not straight, and the width of the upper back is not the same as the lower back. That's why the pretty patterns or tutorials I found on Pinterest didn't fit them well.
✦ It was impossible not to take pictures of them, they behaved too cute, too adorable, I was told that yellow cats were real earthquakes but these two are very docile, they spend all day playing and eating, they are a bit shy too ✦

Comencé a tomar medidas y cortar la tela a media tarde, fue adorable tener que pelear un poco con los gatitos de Galatea (Topacio y Calcifer son los gatitos anaranjados, y Kamui es el gatito negro) que se encapricharon con la tela y se guardaban debajo de la silla, que hacia una improvisada tienda de acampar desde su perspectiva, o eso imagino.
I started measuring and cutting the fabric mid-afternoon, it was adorable to have to fight a bit with Galatea's kittens (Topaz and Calcifer are the orange kittens, and Kamui is the black kitten) who took a fancy to the fabric and kept themselves under the chair, which made a makeshift camping tent from their perspective, or so I imagine.

Ese día no me sentía al 100%, las migrañas han vuelto y estoy un poco agotada de los analgésicos cada 6 u 8 horas para poder funcionar cuando paso por estos periodos donde los dolores de cabeza no se calman, solo se merman un poquito, a veces no lo suficiente para hacer mi vida con normalidad. Tengo nauseas y me pesan los parpados, y estar de pie mas de 10 min es un problema; por eso subí la silla a la cama para reconocer las medidas de la silla mas rápido y hacer el conteo del material.

No funciona todo el tiempo, pero un pasatiempo agradable ayuda mucho a relajar los nervios inflamados, cualquier otro día me hubiera quedado en cama durmiendo o escuchando algún audiolibro con las luces bajas, o un podfic de algún otp que me gusta, pero el patron de esta tela me hace muy feliz y ya se acerca Navidad, mi vecina me dijo que quería su sala lista antes del 24 y en todo momento ha sido muy paciente con mis tiempos de entrega, que varían entre ser muy eficientes o inmediatos, o tardar meses cuando por trabajo mi agenda se llena a tope.
It doesn't work all the time, but a pleasant pastime helps a lot to relax the inflamed nerves, any other day I would have stayed in bed sleeping or listening to an audiobook with the lights low, or a podfic of some otp I like, but the pattern of this fabric makes me very happy and Christmas is coming, my neighbor told me she wanted her living room ready before the 24th and at all times has been very patient with my delivery times, which vary between being very efficient or immediate, or taking months when my schedule is full to the brim because of work.

Me alegra haber hecho un esfuerzo extra porque para la noche, el dolor de cabeza se había ido casi por completo, y me sentía tan contenta que pase parte de la madrugada cosiendo todas las piezas que deje preparadas para continuar después. No recomiendo coser de noche, no me gusta cocer de madrugada porque esfuerzas demasiado la vista, es malo para la salud pero hice una excepción porque estaba ansiosa por comprobar si mi improvisado diseño le quedaría bien o no a las sillas.
I'm glad I made the extra effort because by evening, the headache was almost completely gone, and I was so happy that I spent part of the early morning sewing all the pieces I left ready to continue later. I don't recommend sewing at night, I don't like to sew in the wee hours of the morning because you strain your eyes too much, it's bad for your health but I made an exception because I was anxious to see if my improvised design would fit the chairs or not.

¡Un detalle gracioso!, cuando fui a entregar los forros de las sillas a la vecina, todo salió muy bien, ella estaba encantada y aunque según ella no hacia falta, igual me disculpe por todo el tiempo que esperó. Había llevado mi teléfono para tomar fotos de los resultados pero se me olvidó... así que a los 5 min de regresar a mi casa, tuve que volver con mi vecina y pedirle permiso para tomar estas ultimas fotos (me calló mal el trasnocho jajaja). Me parece gracioso estos extremos en mi, puedo ser especialmente efectiva para muchas cosas, pero a la vez puedo ser torpe para las cosas pequeñas, para recordar cosas o tareas pequeñas mejor dicho.
A funny detail, when I went to deliver the chair covers to the neighbor, everything went very well, she was delighted and although she said she didn't need to, I still apologized for all the time she waited. I had taken my phone with me to take pictures of the results but I forgot... so 5 minutes after returning home, I had to go back to my neighbor and ask her permission to take these last pictures. I find funny these extremes in me, I can be especially effective for many things, but at the same time I can be clumsy for small things, to remember things or small tasks better said.
✦ At the moment my life is going with a somewhat exhausted, but calm flow. I am taking one day at a time to regain energy, but still helping those who ask me for a little help ✦
✦ Sewing and finishing these short projects help me a lot when I don't want to talk about what is bothering me but I want to work out my ideas to find suitable solutions. The sewing machine is a good advisor, or at least, a good listener 💞 ✦
Estoy encargándome de cumplir mis promesas antes que 2023 termine y muchas de esas promesas tienen que ver con proyectos de costura. Me falta remendar un vestido de navidad para una niña pequeña, y enviar por encomienda un cintillo decorado (he tardado tanto en lograr lo segundo que estoy muy avergonzada, pero cada vez que intento enviar la encomienda algo sucede, y cuando veo que las cosas no se me dan, no insisto porque creo que es una señal para esperar a otro día mas propicio).
I am taking care of fulfilling my promises before 2023 is over and many of those promises have to do with sewing projects. I have yet to mend a Christmas dress for a little girl, and to send by parcel a decorated headband (it has taken me so long to achieve the latter that I am very embarrassed, but every time I try to send the parcel something happens, and when I see that things do not happen, I do not insist because I think it is a sign to wait for another more auspicious day).
