The Beauty Of Abandonment In Autumn

It's the time of year once again, for me to make my now traditional visit to this old Gothic Victorian abandoned house! This is the 6th year that I have come here to capture the beauty of abandonment in Autumn.

The house was built in 1874 and is 1 of 3 on a huge piece of farmland. The 3 houses were home to brothers who became the backbone of the agricultural industry in the area.

They have sat abandoned since 2010, with nature and vandals slowly consuming them. Honestly it is pretty sad to see but especially with this house, it makes for hauntingly beautiful Autumn photos.

The Autumn colors were the goal of the trip, but the house was also wide open. So I went for a quick walk through.

Also through the barns, that are now starting to collapse in several places.

As I was going through the barns, storm clouds started to move in with rain. I took some cover, waited it out and was able to capture some nice cloud shots.

I am so thankful to have been able to shoot this property in Autumn for 6 years straight, and hopefully there will be a 7th trip next year!

That must be such a hauntingly beautiful sight to revisit each year. It’s amazing how nature slowly takes back what was once man-made 🍂
