Late Night Long Exposure Adventures

Late last night I found myself in a very restless mood and eventually bundled up with clothes (it was -17c outside). I packed some steel wool in my camera bag and took a wander, out in the city. The starting point was the Hamilton Escarpment.

While walking down the bike trail beside one of the access roads that run up and down the escarpment, I snapped another steel wool shot and a light trail shot that I really like! It's my favorite from the night.

When I made it downtown I came across a building fire with a huge amount of first responders at it (I haven't been able to process those photos yet and will be posted soon). Between some good long exposure shots and randomly coming across the fire, it made for a very interesting late night stroll!

Wonderful shots, very striking ones with the "fireball"....
It is true that every magician does not reveal his secrets, but... what did you use to create this effect, besides the long exposure?
thank you and congratulations
