An Evening Walk At The Creek

For an evening walk, I went to the Spencer Creek Trail in Dundas Ont. A beautiful trail with several very different sections. My favorite section is the last two kilometers, so this is where I started.

You are immediately greeted by ruins of old bridges, a tone of wildlife and a very overgrown trail/shore.

After only 5 minutes of walking, I noticed the head of a beaver in the water. Swimming right towards me!

Then by me, until he noticed me there. There was a loud tail slap on the water and then he was gone. I figured he just continued on his way, underwater. So I continued on my way.

Apparently he didn't just continue on. Only a few minutes later he popped up in front of me again, this time much closer.

Despite me being as quiet and still as I could. He spotted me again! Another loud tail slap and he was gone again, but this time I partially captured his dive.

The trail then turned away from the water and I found myself on a very overgrown part, being swarmed by deer fly's. If you haven't had the "pleasure" of encountering these fly's, they really suck! Very very persistent little devils, with a bite that stings like a bee sting. So I turned around and made my way back to the starting point. Enjoying a nice calm sunset along the way.
