Abandoned 1800s Regency Cottage House
This is a house that I have wanted to explore for a very long time but have never had any success. Despite being on a very rural road, there is a lot of activity during the day and it has a very long driveway. Which makes it nearly impossible to use stealth to get from the road to the house. On this night we got a good snow storm and visibility was next to zero, so we were able to drive right up to the house without being seen and to our surprise the house was wide open!
History information about the property is severely lacking and I have found nothing about it, other than a news article from a barn fire on the land that happened nearly 15 years ago. What is clear is that the architecture type is Regency Cottage and that was a style used in Ontario Canada from 1820 - 1860. Making this a 160 year to 200 year old house.

Downfall to the snowstorm was that it was impossible to get exterior photos that did not end up with blur spots from the snow.
With excitement and curiosity I walked inside and was blown away with the beauty and decay!
Main Floor photos:
The first thing I saw was ceiling in the first room. It was tiled with either copper or tin, but it had been painted over a few times which made it difficult to tell which.
As I moved on to the other rooms, the decay was just as stunning!
There was a very interesting mix of wallpaper throughout, but this wallpaper in a hallway was a great find! It RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and aboriginals on it. Definitely not something you would find in our current woke times, this wallpaper was produced and sold during the 1950s.

The architecture, decay and complete lack of vandalism made this a great explore and I am beyond happy that I was able to document the house in these final stages.
