Abandoned 170 Year Old Mill
Built in 1854, the barber paper mill (in Georgetown Ontario) was also the first electrical generating plant in North America. By 1862 they reportedly had the largest wallpaper factory in North America and employed hundreds of people from the surrounding communities.
The company was started by 4 brothers but eventually was taken over by one of them named John Barber. Who ran the company until 1911 when he sold it to the Provincial Paper Company. The mill ran until the 1970s and has sat abandoned since.
