A Walk Through Steel Town

Last night at dusk, I went for a walk through Hamilton's heavy industrial zone. Home to some of the largest steel mills in Canada. This is quickly changing though because many of the companies have been sold or are cutting production back. In fact the whole area has a development plan that will see 80-90% of the steel industry gone and replaced with medium density industrial buildings.

For this reason I have been taking photo walks around the area as often as I can! Hamilton has been known as steel town or the steel city for nearly a century. It will be strange when its all gone and gives it more purpose to document it while I can!

With heavy industrial, I really love the mood of black and white. So this is a perfect post for the #monomad challenge. With more color shots coming soon!
