Mompox was founded in 1537 and played a key role in Colombia’s colonial history and independence. Its cobblestone streets, baroque churches, and flowered balconies immediately transport visitors several centuries back. The city is renowned for preserving an intact atmosphere, far from the bustle of Colombia’s larger cities.

On s’y perd volontiers à pied dans ses ruelles blanches, on s’assoit sur une place ombragée pour boire un café, et on se laisse bercer par l’ambiance tranquille qui règne dans cette ville hors du temps.

Visitar Mompox significa aceptar un ritmo más lento y dejarse llevar por la suavidad del lugar. Uno se pierde caminando por sus calles blancas, se sienta en una plaza sombreada para tomar un café y se deja envolver por la tranquilidad que reina en esta ciudad fuera del tiempo.

A very picturesque town, perfect for these photographic shots it shows us, this town resembles many of the towns in Venezuela that also maintain the same colonial architectural features.
