The Scottish Framed Retreat
This week's theme of "Corner" got me thinking.
📸 This Week’s Photo Quest: Corner
Capture hidden edges, quiet spots, and overlooked places.
Usually we think of corners just as the point where two walls meet.

But first let's have a wee story ....

While wandering through the historic ruins of Aberdour Castle, I found a different kind of quiet corner...

One that was carved straight out of centuries of Scottish stone.

Tucked into a cool, shadowed alcove of Aberdour castle, this deep window opening frames the terraced walled gardens outside. It gives a perfect sightline over the lawn towards the famous 16th-century beehive doocot in the distance (when the fluffing photographer actually puts it in the picture!).

The rough-hewn stone edges and ancient window corners create a natural frame, catching the summer light while helping us gaze into a piece of history hidden away in a peaceful nook of Fife.
Remember I said doocot .... it looks like the giant beehive ...

I actually made a post about this doocot which you read in The Doo, Dove, Doocot Collection
should you wish to see more info on it!
Way cool, so I say myself!
Thanks for the great prompt @qurator!
The images were taken by the author and ramblings are also from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated.

Those are some interesting shots of some humourous sites from Scotland. I just like them😊
Hehe thank you and glad they brightened your day!
I spent a lot of time in the corner as a kid. It's where I would have to stand if I got in trouble!
haha now you strike me as the sort who would not have got into much trouble 🤣
I was in trouble all the time!
Hehe and there was me having you pegged as a good two shoes 🤣
It just depends on the situation I guess. It's not like I was out breaking the law, I just didn't focus well or pay attention.
