Join me on a journey through my mom's garden where every corner holds a surprise and every plant has a tale to tell.

I'm finally at my parents place to relieve myself of some school stress and bask in nature of the countryside. A place far away from the honks of cars, smokes emerging from the exhaust of heavy vehicles and the jam-packed buildings in the city where fresh air is difficult to catch.

On getting here, I immediately checked out the garden as I was eager to see how the plants were faring.

Walking through my mom's garden, I was struck by the vibrant colors and lush greenery that surrounded me.

The air was filled with sweet scent and the gentle rustling of leaves when the wind blew was soothing.

It is a thriving ecosystem teeming with life and energy where plants and insects coexisted in a delicate balance of survival and growth. Inasmuch as this hurts the gardener, the cycle of life must continue.

I delved deeper and I discovered the fascinating stories behind each flower and vegetable, each pest, bird and the intricate web of connections that linked them all together to making this garden a beautiful place.

The last time I was here, there was no pepper plant anywhere but she has one now and I'm excited to see it growing healthy.

The month of April marked the season for planting maize and my mom didn't miss out on planting hers even though she was complaining of work load. There's also cassava plant growing alongside the maize.

The maize are thriving even though there's weed all over the place. Weeding areas where maize is planted is tiring. One has to wear a suit for protection else he or she stands a chance of coming out after weeding with cuts on the skin because the maize leaf has sharp edges like razor blades.

New eggplants have been planted too and they're doing well out here in the sun.

This potato plant was what got my attention more as it's been seriously attacked by pests. See the holes these caterpillars or whatever is eating them up created. As I'm here, I'll find a solution to keeping the pests away.

Everywhere has just been covered up by vegetation unlike the last time when the garden was spacious with small plants and seedlings.

It feels good to be back here and very soon, I'll help my mom in the little way I can to uproot weeds in the the garden so the plants can grow well without obstructions.
