Ladies of Hive Community Contest #229: Indoor or Outdoor?

QUESTION: Are you an indoors person or an outdoors person? Tell us which you prefer, why, and what is your favorite thing to do while there. Provide a picture of the activity if you can.

ANSWER:

I'm the kind of person who can survive without ever going out as long as I have food, drinks, and the Internet. lol

It reminds me of when the pandemic began about five years ago. People were quarantined, and there were massive lockdowns everywhere. One of my students asked me how I was coping with the situation, and that question made me realize I had been living a life in quarantine even before the pandemic started.

It's somewhat sad to think about it, but that's the story of my life, and I'm embracing it. haha

OK... First things first, let me share why I love staying indoors!

My hobbies are watching anime, reading books and manga, painting or drawing, and writing.

Obviously, they're all indoor activities. I need not go anywhere to enjoy the things I love. These hobbies serve as my stress relievers and a way to express my thoughts.

Perhaps people would worry about my social life, which is understandable. We all need human interaction, and I'm quite fortunate in that sense as well.

I live with my parents, and my close relatives also enjoy the same activities I do, so we can stay home and have fun together.

As for my close friends, they are already aware of my aversion to going out, especially when it comes to gatherings like parties, reunions, or events involving a crowd. They understand me, so we mostly just have a small get-together, mostly at home.

I do go to their place and accept invitations for really important milestones, such as my friend's wedding and my godchildren's Christening. Otherwise, they'd have to really force me to go out. haha I'm trying though... It's among my goals for this year—to spend more time with family and friends.

Another factor that kept me indoors even more was my job. I've been working from home for the past 10 years. I really enjoy my job, though. Although it may not be high-paying, I find joy in doing so. I love teaching and meeting new people. I learn a lot of things from my students as well.

Despite my preference for staying indoors, I love going out for a walk. As much as possible, I do it at least once a week. I love looking at the sunrise and capturing it through mobile photography. My house is approximately 15 minutes away from the beach on foot, so it's one of my favorite places to visit. I go there in the morning, though, when it's less crowded.




When I go out, I prefer to be in the countryside rather than in crowded places. I don’t feel comfortable around large crowds. Being in nature makes me feel calm and inspired. Therefore, if I choose to go somewhere outdoors, I would much rather be surrounded by natural scenery.
