ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #83: Finding Yellow Everywhere

I really enjoyed the Blue Challenge last time, so when I saw the challenge this week, I was quite excited! Why? It's because ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #83 is another photography challenge called "Finding Yellow Everywhere".

Yellow was never my favorite color, but I remember how I was a huge fan of the yellow ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers when I was a kid. When almost all of the other girls around me fight over being the pink ranger, I was just in the corner admiring the yellow one. hahaha

Yellow is such a happy and energetic color that simply looking at it boosts your energy. Here are some of the yellow things I saw around me.

This is an old photo of our hibiscus or gumamela flower at home. I shared this old photo because when I went to the garden last time, our hibiscus is shy. lol Nevertheless, I also took a photo of the shy version. haha

The lighting is much better on this one, though... Maybe because I took it in the morning. :)

Since we're already in the garden, there are other yellow stuff I usually see.

A yellow dragonfly...

image.png

A yellow-spotted millipede

image.png

A yellow dancing-lady orchid

We also have a yellow and pink cattleya orchid, but unfortunately, there isn't any flower these days and I couldn't find any old photos of it. It's also really pretty.

Enough from the garden, let's get inside my room and try to find some yellow stuff there.

It's a Japanese book given to me by a Japanese friend. It has been sleeping in my bookshelf for years now. Is this a sign to get back to learning Japanese?

image.png

This used to be a keychain. I got this more than ten years ago from a fangirl friend. She also has a matching one. I haven't been in touch with her for a long time now... maybe because we're not as active fangirls as before when we were still university students. I still keep this as a remembrance.

image.png

I have been a Spongebob fan since elementary days. This pillow was a Christmas gift I got from a university friend, so this is also more than 10 years old.

image.png

Last item is a Spongebob pouch. I'm not sure when I got this exactly, but I know it's also more than ten years old.

Aside from Spongebob, there's another yellow character that I really like. It's Pikachu! I used to have some Pikachu items at home, but I guess I have given them away to either my cousins or kids in our neighborhood.

And those, my friends, are the yellow stuff I see around me. Thanks for checking this post! See you next challenge! (^^,)/

A lot of good friends are like a bunch of yellow. That yellow doll looks very beautiful to me. With you, the flower scene is very beautiful, full of yellow. You have highlighted everything around you that is full of yellow. But our queens love turmeric very much. Right now I am missing that yellow color of cooking a lot. Always be well. My respect and love to the successful yellow-filled photographic police and you are wonderful. The management made this collection of yellow. My respect and love to you and your family. Also, I have participated here. And I am very happy to see your participation

Thank you so much... and that's true, turmeric is a nice kind of yellow which is almost like orange. It's pretty healthy, too. Thanks my friend. May you and your family have a great one, too! ^^

Funny, I was just talking about Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean with my Cambodian in-laws last night. Cambodians think Korean is the easiest to learn because it is written phonetically like English and Khmer, but unlike Khmer, there is no need to change the bottoms and tops of the characters according to what letter they are placed next to. I've seen Cambodian university graduates struggle to find a simple word in a dictionary of their own native language, and this has always kept me away from learning how to read and write.

Japanese seems intimidating too, at least the reading and writing. I've heard speaking it can be easy to learn because there are very few sounds in the Japanese language. Good luck with your studies, hope you find time to get back to it.

A lot of people think so, too. I personally find Korean pronunciation challenging... maybe because they have a lot of vowels. xD I feel them!!! There are a lot of things I can't explain in my mother tongue (Cebuano) because it's either we use the Spanish-borrowed ones or English. It's so difficult to explain Cebuano since I never formally learned it. Tagalog, maybe, but I almost never use it. I'm actually more confident with using English to Tagalog.

It's the Kanji (Chinese characters) that stops me from learning. They're too many and they're read differently depending on the sentence or situation. T_T Though I have to agree, speaking can be easy since they're mostly syllabic. Thanks!!! My listening isn't that bad though (thanks to anime... lol).
