The Twins

Well Hello There Fellow Hivers!

I don't know if this applies for everybody out there in this small world, but we have a long weekend ahead of us! Now this is both exciting and well stupid at the same time.

Let me shed some light on the situation, we had another long weekend a few weeks back and bossman asked if we could work in that day so that we can have an extra day off on this long weekend so here I am having an extra day to this long weekend. This means that I am off from work Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It's the longest period that I've been off from work since December.

Okay so this brings us back to the question of "Why do I think this is stupid" well it is isn't it? The reason I say so is because I knew of this long weekend long before the weekend finally came, and I can only kick myself for not planning on doing some adventure filled journeys... Now I am stuck here at home needing to do work related jobs, of-course I can't complain it's clean money I can push into my own pocket for easy work. Okay we all know I've got a few privates lined up now yes but I would have much rather gone away for the weekend!

Now usually I post some Technical posts during the week, mainly focused around stuff I do during the week, this isn't the case now. I mean I can I have a bunch of stuff lined up but I am just not in the mood for such writing.

What I am in the mood for is digging up some of the old photos I took during the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the time of writing this I've not yet dug into the folder so I have no idea what I might fancy! So let's see what I can come up with!

I think I found some horses. I've actually written about these two horses quite a few times before, the twins. Ahhh yes let's call them The Twins. That is more than fitting since they are always together hey!

You can read a bit more about The Twins in this post Free The Wild Hearts Wednesday Walk

Well this first photo is just a rando I took while out on the farm, I have to say back then the horses didn't really enter the house yard and now they basically live inside and ever since then it has never been as green as it was in these photos.

A shame actually.

And here are The Twins! Incase you wondered they are beyond naughty! Look at the black one pulling the teff out of the bucket with an attitude and notice how he is looking straight towards me while chowing on his meal!

They are attitude themselves.

This is by far the most favourite one I took on that day, even though I've not dug into this folder for quite sometime I have this one saved somewhere on my phone and I've scrolled past it numerous times and every time I though to myself I need to share this on HIVE.

Well Finally I Managed To Get To It!

There's just something to this photo that is beautifull and we all know it's not the background, it must then be the way the horses are both reaching for a bit of sweet sweet grass.

Now this horse over here is the mums horse, she has even more of an attitude than The Twins combined.

With good reason as well, you see horses have a leader, they actually elect the leader among themselves. I know this sounds weird but whenever a new horse is introduced into the herd they square off with the leader of the herd or vica versa and when that happens the horse who backs off first is ultimately the loser.

It's not really a pleasant sight to see, well it's not unpleasant but they do kick and bite each other and when you don't know what to expect you do kind of well crap your pants a little bit.

Ask me I've been through such an event!

This one is the leader of the herd here on the farm, or as far as I know things can change quickly. Her name is Juniper.

Now besides the fact that horses can be both spitefull and nosey they can also be massively playful and even more so when it's rainy weather and pools of mud start to form over the fields.

They will run and slide and roll around in it, it's quite a sight to behold I can tell you that much.

Well since there are no mud patches around the house, well it was a long time ago but I can recall that there weren't any. She must have found a nice mud pit in the fields somewhere and came home during the night to show us how she played!

It must be that they like the dried mud against their hides.

I have a feeling that this won't be the last time I'll be writing some horse related posts, now that I've dug these out I came down across wayyyy too many photos taken over the years!

But for now let's wrap this up here!

For those of you who do in fact have the privilege of also having a long weekend, try and make the best of it. Don't make the same mistake I have by staying at home.

We’ve got two long weekends in a row and we’re off to Madeira Tuesday week which means we’re off work for ten whole days. I can’t wait!
