The Day Before Christmas Made For Donuts And Beach Vibes

Well Hello There Hivers And Weekend Goers

Weekend vibes? Yes sir we do!

So it's almost Christmas and well this year I don't want to write some unworthy Christmas post so here I am filing it into the #WeekendExperience community. Well why not?

Okay it's actually the eve before Christmas but most people would be doing the present handouts late the eve before, as do we. I'll write a short post covering that on a later day or perhaps even squeeze it into one of my #pinmapple posts seeing that I will most likely have a post for it. So more content the better I'd say.

Well let's not linger on the Christmas part of it all for too long.

A Great Day For Swimming

We were woken to some very good weather and it all fell inline with the plans that we had, a few days ago I made a post where I shared some photos of my sister's wedding. Well as tradition would have it a newly wed couple have to go on what people call a Honeymoon ofcourse they did that. Well both of us went to the Western Cape, they to celebrate their honeymoon and we to enjoy a proper holiday!

We arranged to have a proper day at the beach, we met each other halfway from where we were situated and that was to be the Hartenbos Seafront no doubt I agreed into that.

There's no better beach than the one at Hartenbos. The waves are great and the water not too cold.

Okay so it's worth to say that the weather didn't hold up for long. It wasn't bad, the day still proved to be alot more fun than we first thought. We wanted to be on the beach by 10 AM but things didn't go according to plan (What's new) and we ended up strolling through Langeberg Mall to exchange a few items and then we were on our way to Hartenbos where we enjoyed a nice lunch. Once again me and the Betty ordered a nice iced coffee and with that we shared a pizza together.

After that we had to go to the beach, the day was growing old.

After myself, the Betty along with my sister and her husband had lunch we were to meet with a larger group of people, one that we didn't really plan on. (It's an introvert thing) luckily we met most of the group before so tension was less.

We made our way down to the beach even though the sky was filled with cloudyness.

I did say I'd go to the beach no matter what, so come hell or high water I will go.

Because of the increased shark attacks the swimming strip was very narrow, but at least we were able to swim having life guards with wary eyes scanning the ocean where we swam, if there was a shark sighting they would blow the whistles and that meant everyone should scramble out of the water.

IMG_20221223_160845-01.jpeg

If you didn't hear the whistle blowing well you can keep your eyes on the helicopter patrolling along the coastline. Whenever it circles around you should know that they've definitely seen a shark in the area. When they do they will no doubt communicate with the life guards and you'd be dragged from your nice swimming session.

But rather a short cut swimming experience than a short cut leg.

One of the MSC cruise ships off the port of Mossel Bay. I wish I can say that I've been on one of those cruise ship tours.

Perhaps one day when I'm all grown up. 🤣

Time To Stroll Through The Little Town Houses

After we had our time on the beach, we did swim. We actually had a proper swim to be honest, we went in deep and had some fun in the waves! Not something we do very often, the beach in Dana Bay and the Hartenbos beach are wildly different.

Dana Bay has a lot of rip currents that might pull one out into the ocean and well no one wants that ey! So going in knee deep feels like the safest thing to do. Hartenbos on the other hand is a lot calmer but it has some really nice waves and you can go in quite deep, so deep that you no longer can stand on your own two feet and still be at ease with the ocean.

I told the Betty that this would be the prime spot to get a little house close to the beach. The only downside was that these places are highly sought after and one would pay a pretty penny for them. A pretty penny that we did not have yet. But I'm sure that wont be far off!

What would suit my needs is if I can find a open plot, I'd like that, then one can build your own place the way you want it to look. After all it would most likely be your vacation house and one day perhaps your retirement setting. So designing it to fit your needs seems like the best idea.

I'm telling you, if I can get a little house much like this one. I'd be more than satisfied with it.

Going Back For Donuts

Before we had our lunch we made a turn at the Pizza And Donut Den we found that they were far too busy for our liking and we wanted some proper food and have a nice sit down so we went on the prowl again and later found that spot.

But we were craving a ice cream and perhaps a donut or two after we went to the beach. So we made our way back to the little restaurant, we found it alot less quieter than we last left it. That meant we would have the patience to stand in the semi long line.

The Betty didn't want ice cream. Well I wanted both so we ordered more donuts than we could actually fit in our tummies and I added a ice cream covered with caramel sauce. No doubt by the end of all that sugar I was more than stuffed and seeking out a bed!

The Betty seemed to have enjoyed the donuts so much she stole a few of mine! But I had a ice cream so I can't complain!

Sought After Sunsets!

After returning home from an adventure filled day we had a quick afternoon nap. Playing in the ocean is a tiring business I can vouch for that.

Once we woke from the little nap we were shocked with what presents mother nature decided to hand us!

One of the most beautifull sunsets I have ever seen in Dana Bay!

A glaring golden red sunset!

I did enjoy the donuts 😆 and I want more of them!

If we could afford a plot now, we can leave everything and live of the land 😎

Hey, could you not vote for earn.hive please? Voting for witnesses in exchange for rewards is kind of like bribing stakeholders for a higher place in governance. It's kind of like politicians paying voters, in a way, as witnesses have a lot of control over some things.
