Outdoor Casual Portraiture with Steve. 8 Photos.

This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.

Hello and greetings everyone in this awesome black and white community. I hope that you guys are all doing great and always healthy. Today I wanted to share another black and white outdoor portraiture of Steve. This photoshoot was organized by myself for an update of portfolio for Steve as he was going to compete in a male pageant at our hometown. He was a very happy go lucky person and he is kind. He is an athlete, he plays the basketball and he is playing as a power forward position. At first meeting with him was very intimidating, he was tall and have a strong physique and he talks with a low tone voice.

After we talked for few minute and talked about basketball, then I saw some expression changed on his face, he was more calm and friendly. He began to smile a lot and talk easily. This made me in ease for taking his photos.

This photo was taken in the morning around 10am. The lighting was started to be very harsh but luckily I brought my strobe and my octa softbox for the extra lighting. This photo was taken in an old park just beside the Tanjung Aru beach. The weather was great and the wind was flowing good.

At first I was struggling to get a good lighting for the setup. The lighting condition of the sun that keep on changing because of the rapid cloud movement made some of the photos becoming overexposed or underexposed. But it was all good because it was not raining and the sun still gives a good light during this time.

Me trying to get a wider angle shoot. At first I was skeptical with the photo result. But the after I transferred all the photos into my pc and look at it, I felt a little bit regret because I did not tried a wider shoot with my lens. A wider shoot somehow gave a different feel from all of my previous shoot with a telephoto lens. Its a good learning experience for me. I need to do a lot of outdoor photoshoot to train my eyes on the wider angle.
