Wednesday Walk Vanishing point

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)

For this weeks walk post, since I haven't been out for any new walks yet, I thought I would find a few shots of and talk about vanishing points in photography

In photography, a vanishing point is a compositional tool where parallel lines appear to converge as they recede into the distance, eventually meeting at a single point on the horizon.

This optical illusion mimics how the human eye perceives the world, instantly transforming a flat, two-dimensional image into a scene with immense depth and scale. Whether it’s a set of railroad tracks, a long hallway, or a row of city skyscrapers, the vanishing point acts as a visual magnet, pulling the viewer’s gaze deep into the frame and creating a sense of three-dimensional space

I often spot and take photos with vanishing points without really thinking about it, and picked a few I had not edited or shared before for this weeks post.

Starting with this shot, looking out on the pier/Walkway at Fort Taber Park here in New Bedford

And staying inthe park for this next who, walking on the path from the entrance of the park

And of course those that follow me know I love this pier, so had to include a shot of it

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Perfect way to take pictures with vanishing point. Horizon as meeting point. Amazing. Happy day friends.

My wife and I got out for our first walk of the year this past Saturday. With temps heading towards 60 this weekend I have a feeling we will get out again. This past weekend it was still pretty chilly, so my Garmin app gave me a badge because I did an activity when it was below freezing out!

Hello, dear friend @tattoodjay.

It's great that you have so much photography to share during times when you can't go for walks.

What beautiful shots! I appreciate all the explanations about them.

Have a wonderful day.

Soon better days will come and we'll be able to go walking again!!! The photographs remind me of when I was studying art and did lots of perspective drawings like these. They're spectacular, I especially love the second one. Thank you!!

That first one is really cool, it does seem to vanish off into the distance. It's a very nice visual affect. Our minds really do play tricks on us, and we misinterpret the world around us as a result.

Awesome pictures today. How has that weather been doing? Any warmer with melting snow?
