Wednesday Walk the Mattapoisett rail trail
Wednesday Walk the Mattapoisett rail trail
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)
For today I will share a few shots from an early mornign walk I took on the Mattapoisett rail trail, in Mattapoisett MA.
With the sunrise now being around 5:08 AM I have for the mnost part, been walking on spots within New Bedford, so that I can get there a good 45 Minutes or more before the sunrise, but the morning I did this walk, I woke up at about 3:30 and decided to quickly get dressed grab my camera bag and head out somewhere and decided to go a little further to do this walk.
Now most mornings when I go out for my early walks my wife is sleeping till after i get home, but this day she woke at 3:40 and wondered where the heck I was, but knows me well enough to know I was out walking somewhere so didnt get to stressed, but did ask why I was out so early lOL
A Funny thing about this spot, is the last three times I have been there, I start my walk and after about 5 minutes the battery on my remote for the camera dies, but this time I was prepared and had a replacement battery in my camera bag, I Know its a coincidence but funny its been this spot the last three times I needed to replace the batteries in my remote.
And speaking of batteries another weird coincidence, as I got into my car after this walk, the car told me the battery in my car fob key was running low, so that day I also had to replace that.
OK now onto the walk its a nice wide trail in this spot a pond on one side trees on the other

Mattapoisett Rail Trail runs west to east for approximately 2 miles with paved sections through woodlands and elevated bridges over sensitive coastal marshes and beach. It connects directly to Fairhaven’s Pheonix Trail’s 4.5 miles so you can bike, walk, or jog for over six miles on this flat, easy path.
THis day I think I did most of the Mattapoisett portion of the trail, but didnt make into onto the Phoenix trail

As you can see its a nice wide and flat trail, I can see why it is very popular for people to walk or cuycle on, the only complaint i have seen online is there are not enogh car parking spots for it

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

Have a great day
Beautiful sunrise photographs. It's too early for hiking. The good thing is that you enjoy what you're doing and capture these beautiful photographs with your camera. In my country, at 3 a.m., it's still totally dark. I go hiking starting at 5:30 a.m. Greetings from Venezuela.
yes not really safe when I first go out to taker hiking trails but I do love walks by the water
Certainly sounds like there is some strange magnetic energy happening in that area! I was up at 3:30 this morning as well, but it was because my wife had to get on the road early to take care of some stuff. I would have preferred to sleep until 4:30!
MOst like sleeping in, but its just a habit I cannot get into lOL
I love the penultimate one. Excellent work as always.

Have a great day
So it was really an early morning for you. Luckily your wife knows you well enough not to get stressed to quickly...lol!
That place seems to have some effect on your batteries...lol.
As always, you took some stunning photos, @tattoodjay! Thank you for sharing them with us!
Thanks I know its just a coincidence just funny it has happenned there lOL
It's a dream location, with those trees, the colour of the sky and the pond, a peaceful place to walk, relax and enjoy the scenery. It's true that 3:30 is very early, but that way you have the chance to see the world with no one else around. I'm glad you brought an extra battery and were able to take these beautiful photographs of a place that looks like it's from another planet.
I loved walking those paths imaginatively through your images. It was a beautiful walk, thank you very much!

You really know how to make a simple morning walk sound like an adventure! Nature, quiet trails, surprise dead batteries, and even a beach stop? Now that’s a good start to the day!
I try to make the most of the early morning on nice days and yes sometimes it doe send up an adventure ;)
Gosh I love sunset so much, the pictures you've shared makes me more motivated to love it more.
Thanks kindly your support is appreciated
Have a great day
😂 I figured if I went cycling around there, the cycle computer’s battery would give up on me... I’d end up having to buy another one.
And while it’s natural your wife worries, there’s true merit in getting up early; your photos speak for themselves.
