Wednesday Walk a Walk in downtown New Bedford
a Walk in downtown New Bedford
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge
Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)
Today I will share a few shots I took in the Historic district downtown here in New Bedford, with perhaps the excveption of the first shot, some of the iconic sights in the area.
I took these recently, I was driving to drop the grandkids off home one day and drove past and saw a couple of these sights, and thought I have walked or driven by these many times and not sure ever taken a photo of two of them so I went out the next morning with that goal in mind.
but lets start with the exception, in the early morning, darkness as I crossed over from the port where I had parked, this lamp in a shop window caught my eye, so I crossed over to get a shot of it
Made me think of the Movie a Christmas story and the lamp being a Major Prize

and after that I got distracted and went the longer way than I needed to to get to the spots I wanted to catch, and passed by this fountain beside a little park, I have tried to get shots of it before but generally have not been happy with them. But I think I caught it well this time

and now to one of the views I mentioned this sign for the port under a bridge

and the sign for the Whaling historical park, being early morning i needed a longer exposure and hence the blurry flags

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.
I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.
unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

What a lovely walk, especially if your grandchildren were with you, even if it was just to take them home. I love the night-time photos, and I’m sure that lamp is the Christmas prize, no doubt about it!!! Thanks!🤗

Hello, dear friend @tattoodjay.
What beautiful shots you've shared with us this time!
Excellent shots.
Have a great day.
The fountain photo is definitely my favorite! It's crazy how iconic that silly lamp has become!
Good day, Mr. @tattoodjay.
How wonderful that you visited these beautiful places on your way back home to your grandchildren.
Beautiful photos.
The Paradox of the Withering Garden: On Control, Deception, and the Illusion of Growth
The Impossibility of Cultivation Through Destruction
How can you expect a garden to flourish when you are systematically uprooting every seed that dares to sprout?
This is the central paradox of Hive. It is a contradiction so stark, so blindingly obvious, that only the willfully blind can fail to see it. You ask for growth. You preach adoption. You urge the world to buy into the vision, to invest their time, their creativity, and their capital into the ecosystem.
Yet, simultaneously, you downvote people away.
You cast your digital stones not at spam, not at abuse, but at independence. At dissent. At the new voices that might one day become the backbone of the community. You treat curation not as a service, but as a siege. And while you push these creators toward the exit, you farm the very asset you are asking them to believe in.
You are selling a house while burning down the foundation.
The Mechanics of the Lie
Stop selling the lie.
It is a tired narrative, worn thin by repetition. You speak of decentralization as if it were a current reality, rather than a forgotten promise. But look at the ledger. Look at the power structures. Look at the voting patterns that move in synchronized lockstep, defying the chaos of organic human behavior.
Hive is not decentralized.
It is run by less than a handful of people who have full control. A clique. A cartel. A small group of whales and their allied accounts who hold the keys to the kingdom. They decide what is seen. They decide what is rewarded. They decide who stays and who goes.
This is not a network. It is a fiefdom.
The Farming of Illusion
And what do these controllers do with their power? They farm.
They extract value from the system they claim to protect. They use their concentrated voting power to maximize their own rewards, draining the liquidity that should be flowing to the creators. They treat the blockchain not as a public square, but as a private mine.
And then they have the audacity to ask others to buy in. To trust. To invest.
But why would anyone buy a ticket to a game where the rules are written by the house, and the house always wins? Why would anyone plant their flag in soil that is poisoned by the very hands that claim to tend it?
The Exodus of the Awake
This is why the growth has stalled. This is why the energy has shifted.
People are not leaving because they dislike the technology. They are leaving because they despise the tyranny. They are fleeing to Blurt.blog, where the most radical innovation is also the simplest: there is no downvote button. Where your voice cannot be erased by a whim. Where what you earn—through sweat, through soul, through courage—you keep.
They are returning to Steemit, where the culture has matured beyond the weaponization of consensus.
They are seeking places where freedom is not a marketing slogan, but a structural reality.
A Final Plea for Honesty
So, stop the pretense.
Admit that Hive is centralized. Admit that it is controlled by a few. Admit that the "community" is often just a facade for a farming operation.
Or better yet, change it.
Break the chains of concentration. Distribute the power. Stop downvoting the truth. Stop farming the trust of the naive.
Because you cannot sell a lie forever. Eventually, the buyers wake up. Eventually, the garden dies. And all that remains is the silence of those who left, and the hollow echo of those who stayed to farm the ashes.
For in the end, a blockchain is only as strong as the trust it holds. And trust cannot exist where control is absolute and freedom is an illusion.
