Monroe reserve and shipyard park Mattapoisett MA

Good Morning i hope your week is going well

Today I will share a few shots from a Visit to Mattapoisett Wharf, , it is a nice spot, but one I dont visit to often as I try to combine getting out taking photos with getting my steps in, and this spot isn't so good for getting a lot of steps in a fairly small area.
But recently with the sunrise being earlier at the moment, I had been to Neds Point lighthouse and got some photos and steps in, and I had time to make another stop before heading home, so I swung by the Wharf

Now I guess this spot is three places looking at it on maps, there is the wharf itself with three piers, Shipyard Park, which I will get to with my last photo, and Monroe Reserve which is the main focus for this post.

Its a nice green spot right by the wharf and hence by the water, so green and fresh, with spot to sit and relax if thats your thing :)
These stone seats inthe first seat may not be that comfortable, but they have a few wooden benches as well, with lovely views over the water

Heres one of the wooden benches and more of the lovely lush greens that where there that morning, it had rained overnight and I find that brings out the greens

From other visits I know there are some nice flowers at times here, but none were out on this visit

from the benches you can enjoy views like this, still being early spring at the time I was there and the weather being on a roller coaster up and down, not many boats docked there at the time

and this is the other spot called Shipyard park, with this cool gazebo

I'm guessing Shipyard park really used to be a Shipyard back in the day? We have a few areas like that near where I live. I think the one shipyard used to make naval vessels back in the day.

The combination of Monroe Reserve, Shipyard Park, and the area around the pier really highlights just how peaceful and beautiful this place is, especially in those moments after the rain when the greenery comes alive. Combining photography with your goal of walking and taking in the surroundings is truly wonderful; it makes the experience both active and mindful. The benches overlooking the water and that quiet atmosphere seem like the perfect spot to stop and take it all in. As always, great shots—well done.

Mattapoisett is one of those New England spots that feels frozen in time in the best way. The reserve trails along the harbor give you a different perspective than the crowded Cape Cod beaches. Nice to see the local geography getting some documentation.
