Spring has sprung in Haskell Gardens

Spring has sprung in Haskell Gardens

Good Morning, today I am sharing a few shots from a walk I took yesterday during the day, well I stopped at three spots yesterday as it was such a nice day, My first stop was the Haskell Gardens , so let me tell you a little about it
For over 30 years, lifelong New Bedford resident Allen C. Haskell cared for this property as a successful nursery. Haskell was so known for his horticultural talents that celebrities like Martha Stewart and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis were among his fans. After Haskell’s passing, The Trustees saved the property in 2012 to protect this unique urban garden from development.

Today, the Allen C. Haskell Public Gardens feature six acres of carefully designed gardens, greenhouses, and one of the oldest houses in New Bedford, all arranged around a wide green common space — perfect for a sunlit picnic or to explore with a camera. Pick up some bulbs, plants, and seeds at the visitor’s center, or learn a new gardening skill at one of the horticultural workshops Haskell Gardens hosts throughout the year.

Its such a beautiful spot but especially so when all the flowers come out, I went there maybe a week or so ago and not many flowers had bloomed, but yesterday wow what a difference spring had sure sprung with blossoms onthe trees

And all kinds of flowers in the gardensm I did take some closer in shots of the flowers but will save those for a future post, showing more wider open shots of the grounds today, it would have made a good Wednesday walk post, but I wanted to share these today

What a gorgeous place! Glad to see that they have been preserving the property just as would have been when he was actively working. He had some big name fans for sure, they don't get much bigger than those two. I love all the green and the beautiful flowers in your shots. Well done!
