Some more light painting shots

Some more light painting shots

Good Morning, another Friday, and another of what I like to call my Fun Friday Posts and for this week it's back to light painting

These are not recent, but luckily, I took plenty before my health slowed me down for a couple of months, and now it's too cool for me to be out and about with my camera gear early morning, which is generally when I do these.

This first one was taken on Pope's Island

So what is light painting let me try to explain, actually let me cheat and copy and paste how I explained it in a previous post and was happy with it lOL

Light painting is basically photography’s rebellious cousin who skipped art school and went straight to rave school. Instead of brushes and canvas, you use flashlights, sparklers, glow sticks, or anything that creates light
You set your camera on a tripod, open the shutter for a few seconds or minutes, and then whoosh, you draw in the air with light. The camera sees all the glowing trails and goes, “Oh, cool, I’ll just record that like it’s normal.” And voilà—you’ve got a photo that hopefully you think is cool .

It’s like finger painting, but for grown-ups who still believe in magic and own more lenses than socks.

NOw I had planned at some stage to do a post showing photos of the torches and attachments I use for these, but having just bought a new car I took all the photography gear i had in the old car and ut it into a box in the garage, uincluding a light stand I seldom if ever use, a mono pod I do use occassionally, and my light painting blades I got a lot of use out of this year, I do need to go through that box and throw out some of the junk that built up in the old car over the years and take some shots of the light painting gear, but with winter a still long way to go I have no sense of urgency to do that LOL

and the next one by the old fort, have taken many in different spots around the fort

THis one was on a walk on the Mattapoisett Rail Trail trying to write with light, not surprisingly my writing is bad with light painting, but what's even worse is my normal writing lOL

and to finish off on the pier

And that’s all folks

Ooh, a new car! How exciting! Hopefully anyway. I've had cases where I was force to buy a new car because my old one died and that was not fun at all!

yes indeed in this case the old car was still running well, but decided to get a new one now, and also helped the wifes son and his wife get new cars a big dent to the bank account but worth it
