some light painting

some light painting

Good Morning and have a great day, get through the day and the weekend is upon us

Keeping with my habit of a fun Friday post, and one thing I like having fun with when the weatheris nice and I get out early well before sunrise, is doing some light painting

This first one is taken at the Boat ramp and small marina in Dartmouth, a neighboring town to where I live

The red nd orange lines off to the the right are a boat that was put into the water via the the boat ramp and then headed out

And the light painting I did was using two RGB critter light torches with different attachments, and a small flashlight to make the stars

So what is light painting let me try to explain, actually let me cheat and copy and paste how I explained it in a previous post and was happy with it lOL

Light painting is basically photography’s rebellious cousin who skipped art school and went straight to rave school. Instead of brushes and canvas, you use flashlights, sparklers, glow sticks, or anything that creates light
You set your camera on a tripod, open the shutter for a few seconds or minutes, and then whoosh, you draw in the air with light. The camera sees all the glowing trails and goes, “Oh, cool, I’ll just record that like it’s normal.” And voilà—you’ve got a photo that hopefully you think is cool .

It’s like finger painting, but for grown-ups who still believe in magic and own more lenses than socks.
THis is at the same spot looking out on the pier

And here I am at Fort Tber for this next one, I spot I often try light painting at, I say try, as I am still learning and trying to improve, hopefully this year when I get out I can get more creative and get better shots

That second to the last one is really great. Probably my favorite of the bunch!
