Some cool buildings in Fairhaven MA

Good Morning and have a great day

THis is a post I have had prepared for a while but haven been putting of sharing it, not sure why, but since over the last week my time on the computer editing photos has been minimal due to the eye infection i had i decided to go with it today

MY eye is doing a lot better the pointment and antibiotics did the job, finished the antibiotics yesterday and eye is almost back to normal but still using the ointment for another day or so at least to make sure its all cleared up

On my walks around fairhaven I hve often focused in posts on some of the more well known older buildings such as the Unitarian Church, the Millicent LIbrary and the town hall, which I have shared post of all of those, but i also was taken by some of the cool older private properties there and will share a few of those in todays post

How old is fairhaven you may ask, well I did ask myself that and found out

Fairhaven, Massachusetts, was settled in 1653 and officially incorporated as a town in 1812. Therefore, Fairhaven is 372 years old since settlement and 213 years old since incorporation.

NOw i do not know the history of any of these buildings, perhaps I should have taken photo s of the house numbers and street names and could have looked them up, but i didnt even thing of doing thta on these photos so I will just have to let them talk for themselves, if they could do that I am sure they would all have some interestign stories to tell

I do like the pillars on that first one, not so sure i like how it looks so box like or the colors

And more pillars in this next one, I think it has more style, looks real big I wonder how many bedrooms it has

Next up is this little building, what caught my eye was the name on it and i looke dit up to see what they did

The Fairhaven Protecting Society is a volunteer organization in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, that was initially formed in the mid-1800s to assist the fire department by safeguarding property at fire scenes. More recently, the society focuses on preserving and protecting the historic artifacts and equipment of the town's fire service, including maintaining a historic fire engine that is used for town events

Wow, those are some great old houses. I'm always impressed when you drive through a little town in the middle of nowhere and they have some of the most grand houses. It makes you wonder who lived there or had it built. I am glad you eye is doing better!
