THis is called Mood-Vironment: and irt is described as below
An Interactive A.I. Responsive Sculpture
Mona Ghandi’s Mood-vironment is an interactive walk-through sculpture that provides a dynamic, immersive atmosphere through its interactive sound response and color-changing effect—a function of sensor-and-lighting technology. Embedded sensors respond to the viewers’ physical presence and voice that trigger constant changes to light and sound. By positioning viewer participation and emotions at the very center of its socially responsive space, the sculpture aims to emphasize emotions as a fundamental part of the collective identity, a type of experiential public art.
“This outdoor installation is a real manifestation of DATMA’s public-art, technology, and design mantra and mission,” says Nicholas Sullivan, Chair of DATMA. “It is both experimental as an outdoor piece – and experiential, in a very interactive way, thanks to AI and machine-learning technology. It’s always exciting and sometimes nerve-wracking to see these one-of-a-kind pieces come together.”
Ghandi has been designing and building similar structures for indoor use for more than a decade; this is her first outdoor sculpture. It was designed in Seattle, fabricated in Virginia, and assembled by a 10 person team over a two-week period. The sculpture, made from wood and fabric, stands 20’W x 20’L x 11’H. The outdoor sculpture installation is scheduled to be in place June 13–October 13, 2025 at 82 Front St, New Bedford, MA 02740.

The first couple of times I saw it, there was a sign saying they were still working onthe interactive part, the last time I saw it, it seemed to be up and running, although in the early morning light or lack of it I didnt work out how the interaction works
Next up is a scultprure that has been there a long time

A dead whale or a stove boat, is written on it and that I know is a line from MOby dick, strange I remember that when I read the book maybe 50 years ago
it was Created by artist Bela Pratt to honor the town of New Bedford (then known as "The Whaling City")
The Whaleman statue also known as the "Angry Whaleman with Harpoon" statue, was unveiled on June 20, 1913. It was commissioned in 1912 and cast in 1913. The statue was a gift from William W. Crapo, a prominent local figure, to the city.
Next up we have the New Bedford's Veterans Bell, which dates back to the early-to-mid-19th century, was cast by one of the best-known American manufacturers and merchants of decorative lighting, Civil War artillery, bells and chimes.

I have seen it a few times as it is opposite the port where I often walk, I first saw it when they were puttingit together, just the structure and no lights and I wondered what the heck it was

Thanks kindly your support is appreciated
Have a great day
Wow beat art, the first picture looks good more when you take picture with light around
That piece by Mona Ghandi is pretty cool. It even lights up at night, very innovative of her. The cast whaleman statute is nice as is the bell. You can that both are old, but the bell appears to be better maintained. Very interesting sculptures, thanks for sharing!
Cool art.
