The Cove walk New Bedford MA

Good Morning and have a good weekend.

I often share photos of or from the Harbor walk here in New Bedford, but it is not the only Walkway on top of the Hurricane Barrier walls here in New Bedford MA.

There is also the Cove walk, which is a lovely walk, and I do it now and again, but personally I prefer sunrise walks on the Harbor walk.

The New Bedford CoveWalk is a 5,550-foot long, and built in the 1960s; it is pet-friendly paved pathway that sits atop the city's massive hurricane barrier.
It runs along Clark's Cove from Cove Road to West Rodney French Boulevard, it offers panoramic ocean views, sea breezes, and stunning sunset vantage points for walkers, runners, and cyclists. But that said, I mostly visit it at sunrise.

As far as pet-friendly goes, I often see people walking their dogs there, but als I also often see the left-behinds of those too lazy to clean up after their dogs.

One of the views is at around the center point of the walkway; there is a spot where people can park and access the walk near where I took this, and another at the end of it near Rodney French Blvd.

The parking I mentioned is behind the old factory buildings you see in this next photo, these first couple of photos give a good idea of the size and scale of both the hurricane barrier wall and the walkway.

This mural is about midway between the point I was standing for the first photo and the end of the walkway in the distance again in the first photo, but I think it's such a fun and colorful mural, a nice touch on the wealkway

NOw i do prefer catching sunrises over the water, but they still can be nice to see from the Cove walk ;)
