Good Morning all I hope life is treating you well
For this mornings post I am going to share some shots of a group out rowing that I see often mostly if I take a morning walk on West beach I always seem to see them

Whenever I see them out rowing there are a couple of things that come to mind, first the childrens lullaby Row Row Row your boat
Do you know it?
“Row, Row, Row Your Boat” is a folk song that was penned by American author and teacher Eliphalet Oram Lyte and was first published in 1852.
It has has just one stanza, with four lines:
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream
and thats the version I know or remember from my childhood and from singing ( badly I must say lets just say singing is for sure not one of my talents)
But I found some other versions online such as the ones below:
Row, row, row your boat
Gently up the creek
If you see a little mouse
Don’t forget to squeak!
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
If you see a crocodile
Don’t forget to scream!
Row, row, row your boat
Gently to the shore
If you see a lion
Don’t forget to roar!

the second thing I think after having seen them out just about every morning I visit West beach no matter what the conditions are such as the day I took the photo above and below the windy was really strong those days and the water was so choppy but they were still out there rowing away

often I may just see one boat, other days two, this day they seemed to be having a race

it may look like the blue boat is winning, but the yellow boat raced on by and well ahead that morning

I've only ever rowed a canoe and a small fishing boat. This stuff is on another level! My niece who plays softball was approached by the coach at a Big 10 University asking if she would be interested in rowing. She's wiry, but her upper body muscles are massive.
sounds like the right kind of body for rowing, I rowed a bit back in NZ its quite big back there
Rhyming song ; stream,dream,creek,squeak and many other words. I was not aware that it is an American song.
I wasnt aware of that either I guess its known the world over
The boat was making like the Fast and Furious movie.
The only thing missing was the Nitro 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I remember seeing people roaming with a boat on the lakes while living in the capital and it all seemed to relaxing and entertaining ever from the shore. Now I miss this kind of view since I'm living closer to mountains rather than lakes or rivers
Mountains have amazing beauty as well I miss mountains there arent many near me if any LOL
When we were kids we had a different version...about the demise of an unliked school teacher. I think I'll stick to your wildlife variety of rhymes! Rowing is such a fun sport. It's been many years since I was on the water rowing. So special. Have a wonderful weekend

You bring that lullaby up I think of the lyrics and I see a mad man trying to get the piano lyrics right. I can't remember exactly was it a Sesame Street skit? 🤔 😂
The other thing I thought of was my bad shoulder and thinking how it would have felt afterwards if I was rowing in that choppy water,😂

thanks, as for tips I dont use my iphone much for photography but there good these days, a lot is finding a view that is pleasing
The alternate lyrics 😂 the crew team from the local college pratices on our lake. Sometimes during my walks, I just stop and watch. Very interesting especially for me because I have no idea about the sport.
I think today I found out why they have bene out so much they are having a regatta this coming weekend racing in whaling boats both rowing and sailing against a couple of teams from the Azores
Very nice photos and view you have in your city. I would love to witness a rowing race like that. Unfortunately, in my culture, such races are not common, and the song 'Row Row Row Your Boat' is unknown. But I find it very interesting to learn about these things, as it's always good to broaden one's horizons.
