Osprey

Osprey

I would be remiss if I did not start this post wishing Everyone, but especially those living here in the United States a Happy 4th of July

and that's why even this post is mostly about Osprey the thumbnail for the post is the American Flag

As some of you who follow me may know I have been trying to catch some good photos of some of the Osprey we have in the area, and often visit a spot on the cove walk where there is an Osprey nest in view.

I have swung by the spot so many times of recent and each time I go there the Osprey is either sitting on its nest or on a small platform beside it and haven't seen it flying there.

Even a couple of mornings in this past week I went there and stood and watched hoping one would fly off and return, for close to an hour each time and then gave up and headed somewhere else.

And here's where it gets funny, the places I went to after being somewhat frustrated at waiting so long for nothing were West beach and Buttonwood Park here in Milford, and that's where the shots of the Osprey I share in todays post were taken.

Now I am not saying they are great shots of them, but I think there kind of OK and worth sharing.

Perhaps I can learn something from this, sometimes obsessing about something and focusing too much time and energy into it can just wear one down and cause you to get frustrated, sometimes you just need to let it go and go with the flow and maybe what you have been hoping for will come when one least expects it

its funny in both these locations the Beach and the park the Osprey flew quite close to me and enabled me to get these shots and meanwhile I was just relaxing and walking along the beach or through the park, I did have to quickly switch from a wide lens to a zoom lens for a couple of these shots, the others I already had a long lens on at the beach watching heron and terns

would be cool if one of the Osprey caught a fish and flew over me and I got a shot of it, but I am not going to obsess with that and will just go with the flow and if it happens it happens

and a last shot to finish off the post

And as I mentioned at the start of the Post I felt I needed to show the Flag as it is the 4th of July, this one is on the Schooner Ernestina Morrisey

I thought they were great shots, I would not be able to capture such shots with my cell phone. A reminder I need to buy a camera one of these days. Thank you for the sediment on the U.S.A friend, much appreciated 👍
