Monochrome Monday around the area of New Bedford MA

Monochrome Monday around the area of New Bedford MA

Good Morning, I hope your weekend went well. Today, to start the week as is my habit, I am sharing a few Monochrome edits of photos.

All taken on recent walks, most within the historic district here in New Bedford, MA, as the old buildings and cobbled stone ( well, actually Belgian block, but I think of them as cobblestones) streets I feel are so suited to Monochrome :)

And speaking of Belgian block streets, here is one, Dover Street, so much character and detail in one small street.

This used to be a dirt path between buildings coming up from the port, and was lined with rose bushes to counteract the smell of the fishing fleet back in the Whaling days, and hence was called a rose alley.

Now I forget which street this was one, I really need to make a point of taking photos of the street signs when walking around the city, so I can remember which street I was on when taking the photo.
I don't know what this building was or is currently used for but with a mono edit I think it gives such a timeless feel

Now out of New Bedford for this next shot, the Gazebo on Shipyard green near the wharf in Mattapoisett MA.

And another building which as of yet, I have not learnt the history of, but I do remember it was on Union Street, the style of the architecture just caught my eye.

Thanks to the People's Pressed Juice Shop sign, I was able to confirm these buildings are on Union Street, and infact looking closer, I even notice the street sign :)

Now the timeless feel would have been ruined with the cars parked on Union Street, but luckily I was able to edit them out fairly well, with minimal signs of where they were

And that’s all folks

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

That stepped architecture is definitely interesting on that one building. I always love seeing the gazebo too with the whale at the top!

Good morning, Mr. @tattoodjay.

This part of the city is so beautiful. I love those buildings, especially with this style of photography.

Have a wonderful day.

Wow, that's beautiful. I find those buildings truly beautiful, especially when you take them in the morning. They look so perfect, and especially when edited in black and white, they look so cool.

it's very well done and the use of sepia color in some places makes it look like old photos
