Mono Monday St Marys Cemetery

Mono Monday St Marys Cemetery

Good Morning i hope you all had a good weekend and wishign you a good week ahead,

Being a monday I am keeping with my habit of sharing mono shots and for this weeks post I am sharing a few shots of a visit to St Marys Cemnery which is in New Bedford.

The morning i took these I had bene for a pre sunrise walk elsewhere, but my motivation was week that morning and my step count was low when I left the first spot and I thought OK today will be a quiet day for my steps, i had what I consider my minimum ste count for a day after my morning walk of 7500 steps but a bit short of the 10 K i haave bene doing most days recently.

I had to go to the supermarket that morning which is across the road from the cemetery, and I got there early and had some motivation return on the drive there so parked inthe cemtery and got more steps in making my 10K goal in the end

Its a very nicely laid out and well maintained cemetery, I have edited a few shot sin color that I will share at some stage but I although not sure why often find shots in cemetery I like editing in MOno rather than color and hence this post

I do not know the history of JOhn Duff but he has an impressive mausoleum in the cemetery, i am assuming he was someone prominent as ther eis also a building called the john Duff building and sometimes the all fellows building here

Photographs that manage to convey the sobriety of the place and are a pleasure to enjoy due to their excellent workmanship.

Beautiful shots! Cemeteries do work well in mono, and they are always so quiet and peaceful. Duff apparently wasn't a poor man to have his own huge mausoleum. Welch's monument is pretty cool, I like the anchor they put on top. The statues looks great in mono, too bad the second one is weathering so poorly. It must have been a softer stone.

Great job!
