Mono Monday a few of my favorite spots to walk

Mono Monday a few of my favorite spots to walk

Good Morning and wishing you a good week ahead

As I tend to do well now that I am back posting more regularly, I am starting the week with a few Mono images

These are all from walks earlier in the year before I had the stomach and hernia issues, its been to cold inthe mornings for me to think about heading out for a walk, well today would have bene OK as it was 54F around sunrise, but i have promised y wife to be careful with not lifting anything heavy for the couple of more weeks as advised by the doctor, and although we disagree on my camera bag counting as being heavy i am trying not to strees her out and not going out with the camera bag

First spot and one I often visit is Fort Tabor National Park here in New Bedford, MA, and a shot of Fort Rodman, the old fort in the park. I know it still looks in good shape, but sadly, it is run down, and they do not open it for visitors to see inside it as it is unsafe

Next up the Port again here in New Bedford, on days i am not expecting that much as far as sunrise colors I sometimes head to the port and have a nice stroll around the area

And other days I may park by the port but walk up into the historic district, I do find the cobblestone/Belgian block streets charming, well for photos not so much for driving over them, they make the whole car shake rattle, and roll

And another spot I regularly visit is Pope's island, it's funny I enjoy seeing the boats both here and at the port, but have no interest to ever buy one

and probably the spot I visit most often by the pier and boat ramp, I go here and either walk by and or out on the pier, or along the shoreline, or head the other way and walk on the Harbor walk on top of the hurricane barrier wall

I like how all these photos has its own unuque colors. Cannot decide which one I like the most, all are just perfect. First one, cover photo, remind me of some old abandoned prisons. 😍

It's a shame we couldn't go inside that fort so you could show it to us.

Excellent photos as always!

How's your hernia coming along?
Best regards!

Good morning, Mr. @tattoodjay

You're doing the right thing by being patient and not going out with your camera bag. Take care; you'll be back to your normal life soon.

Beautiful photos.

Have a wonderful day.

Great shots. That fort always makes for a good shot. Was it involved in the American Revolution? We just watched the Ken Burns American Revolution documentary on PBS

Fort Rodman was not used during the American Revolution; it was built in the mid-1800s, starting in 1857. However, the area where the fort now stands was attacked by the British in 1778, during the Revolutionary War, when a raid destroyed homes, shops, and ships in the New Bedford area

Hopefully you can just take it easy over the holiday and get rested up! I love the shot of the street.

Nice shots! Fort Rodman is a really cool structure, too bad there aren't funds to fix it up. It would have to be a private effort I'm sure. I love the purple you added in to make it look older. Great edit! The marina is a pretty are too as is historic downtown with the cobblestone streets. You have some great places for walks!

How's the weather treating you so far now that you are healing up?
