Market Friday the fun of the Fair or craziness of the Carnival

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I ask the Question

Is it the fun of the fair or the craziness of the Carnival?

When I see this carnivals set up in various places I always find myself asking that question and for me at this age I go with the craziness, when there open and people are flocking here I for sure do not want to be there with my dislike for being in crowds and wondering how safe these rides are.

add the cost to do the rides these days even more craziness,

Apparently at this fair it was US $40 to buy a pass for kids to do the rides

As a Kid back in NZ we had fairs and Country fairs or if I remember rightly they were called A&P shows ( Agricultural and Pastoral), but even back there I really didn't like the crowds and although I visited then I stayed away from the rides but did enjoy checking out the farming displays, and the machinery and some of the sporting events they had there, I remember being fascinated by the Caber tossing at one of them, and did enter the gumboot throwing contest a few times,

But back to this fair

I was going to say I didn't go to the pair when it was crowded but in the end thats not true
When I took these photos was early morning the day before the fair opened and no one was around, but in conjunction with this fair, or as it is called the Whaling City Festival in Buttonwood Park, they have a car show on the Sunday and I popped there to check out the cars and while there I did a quick walk into the vendor area and snap a few photos before the crowds got to me and I got out of the cars as i took a bunch of photos of them.

But back to the fair rides and the shots I took that morning I thought this one was colorful and fun

And when there is a carousel I always have to take a shot or two of it

HOw about you if you see a carnival like this do you go and check it out, do the rides or check out what the vendors have on display?

It's been a long time that i go to fair but yes i visited in parks where there's a Ferris wheel 🎡 to enjoy the ride. I hope you enjoyed there to capture beautiful shots when there's no one in morning 😹

I do check them out! There is something fun and exciting about those Carnival Rides, but, like you, I am not fond of them, but, for different reasons.

First off, who doesn't love those horses and the Merry-Go-Round? They always look fun and they always have one! Ditto with the Ferris Wheel. I don't care how small, they always seem to have one.

What an interchangeable space, isn't it? Carnival one day, Car show the next. The excitement of these traveling shows never gets old, does it? This coincided with the Whaling Festival and now that you say that, many of them are run with Festivals in the cities or towns. The celebrations go hand in hand with drawing a crowd there. I have to admit, one of the reasons those fun-induced extravaganzas aren't my favorite is because I always wonder how safe they can be being put up and down every few days. Are they put up with excruciating precision each time? Or put together quickly as they work a tight schedule? I know, silly, right? Still... I love the shots here and I can only imagine the screams of joy and shrieks of scary will be coming from those pieces of equipment! Still, wonderful pieces to photograph!

Thanks for taking us along!!!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

No I dont think your silly at all, they put these up and pack them up so quickly, and not to sound judgmental, OK I will sound judgmental but what the heck, going there early morning you see some of the people that put these together and let me sya this they dont look like engineers or skilled labor in some cases LOL
