Market Friday Buttonwood Park Zoo

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I am going to share a few shots of a visit to the Buttonwood Park Zoo

The Buttonwood Park Zoo, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, United States, is a seven-acre zoo located in the center of Buttonwood Park. It is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford, with the support of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. The zoo opened in 1894 as a deer park and menagerie
I did visit this zoo shortly after we moved here just as the Pandemic restrictions were coming into force and quite enjoyed my visit then, and I don't know if because of the pandemic they have had less visitors and hence less income, but I found I was not that impressed with it this time, some of the paths were over run with plants and such, and a few of the enclosures were empty.
I doubt I will revisit it again for a while but maybe will again next year and see if it is in better shape.

I did get some shots of animals, and of an indoor display with fish jelly fish and birds that was probably my favorite part of the visit to the zoo, but I haven't even looked at or edited those yet, but for this post I will focus more on the more market parts of the zoo

Starting with this carousel which you can buy tickets for a ride on

Of course being in a zoo the animals to ride on weren't the more common all horses and Ponies you see on other carousels

I think this seal was my favorite

I wonder what it is about zoo's and trains that they go so well together. It seems like pretty much every zoo that I have ever been to they have some form of train as well. Probably one of my favorites is the Columbus Zoo. It's owned by Jack Hannah, so it is pretty massive. Right down the road from my inlaws too!

Yeah I wonder why I think every zoo I have been to has some kind of train

Columbus Zoo is one I would love to visit sometime

The seal ia the cutest indeed. I remember riding in that little train of Tom's World at the Mall when I was a kid. Such a fun experience, but I can't do it now. I never been lucky to enter such places like that, it's nice to have a virtual tour through your post.

That’s a shame to hear it wasn’t that well kept this time. It can have many reasons.
Maybe when more visitors go it will change.
Great captures and lovely to see the carousel has all kind of animals.
The little train is cute.
Thanks for sharing @tattoodjay 👋🏻😊
Have a great Friday evening!

How sweet they are! I have always jumped on a zebra but, I really do love that little seal! Super cute! Do you know in all the carousels I have ridden, I have never seen a seal yet? Of course, not having ridden all of the available ones, I shouldn't be making claims like that. :)

I did notice that they are zoo animals on the carousel, but they did have one carousel horse! He looked out of place, didn't he? That train is little, just like its customers, but, guess what? My kids would have killed for a ride in it! :) No visit is complete without a snack place. After you play on the train, the play train. I think they did a great job on the kids' play area and it saddens me to see a nice little place like this being shorted on maintenance because of Covid. So many little niceties had no money to keep it up. I see it here too.

Hey, you! Thanks so much for the awesomeness of your support and post! It is always a pleasure, my friend! I hope you had a super weekend!

It is always good to read the #MarketFriday post so you don't miss anything going on.

Isnt it funny how a carousel horse looked out of place on this one,
this is the first carousel I have seen with zoo like animals, but like you I havent seen them all so maybe it snot that unusual :)

My favorite was also the seal,

True! Thanks again and I hope all is well with you. Thanks for that carousel. Now I am pulling up some old ones from back where my grandmother was in Long Island, all the way down the island they had some antique ones still running.
