Fun Friday some more light painting
Fun Friday some more light painting
As I prepare this post, I almost got out for a photo walk this morning, had all my gear loaded in the car, as the weather apps, were mostly saying no rain till 8Am, one said a 45% chance of rain earlier, but the others were much lower percentage or saying none, so I loaded all my gear inbto the car, camera light painting torches, tripod etc.
Opened the garage door and backed out, drove maybe 100 feet down our street and it started raining, so went round the block and rain kept coming so drove back hone and thought ohh well another day :)
Sharing some light painting shots I did last year all around the Fort Tabor Park here in New Bedford
I am hoping to get to the fort one morning after it has rained over night as if there is enough rain a puddle forms by the old fort and I can try to get some reflections with light painting, sort of liek this first one I share but hopefully better

So what is light painting let me try to explain, actually let me cheat and copy and paste how I explained it in a previous post and was happy with it lOL
Light painting is basically photography’s rebellious cousin who skipped art school and went straight to rave school. Instead of brushes and canvas, you use flashlights, sparklers, glow sticks, or anything that creates light
You set your camera on a tripod, open the shutter for a few seconds or minutes, and then whoosh, you draw in the air with light. The camera sees all the glowing trails and goes, “Oh, cool, I’ll just record that like it’s normal.” And voilà—you’ve got a photo that hopefully you think is cool .
It’s like finger painting, but for grown-ups who still believe in magic or for grown ups who are still kids at art and like to have fun.
Or possibly more likely in my case, for someone like me with no artistic ability who thinks doing these is perhaps the best art I will ever do lOL.

I do think the old fort makes a cool back drop for light painting

Great stuff! I saw a news story the other day about a guy that spent a decade or so working on some light painting like this. It was pretty impressive what he accomplished after all the time and effort he put into it.
OHhh yeah some of them do such amazing work, there's one I follow who does animations with light painting incredible stuff
Ooh, that sounds interesting!
Hello, dear friend @tattoodjay.

Just goes to show you how reliable the weather forecast is... lol
Nice shots from the Fort last year. You've gotten really good at light painting! I really like the second and fourth ones today, that concentrated ball came out nicely. And then all the colors just at sunrise on the last was really nice. Well done!
I hope the rain stays away soon!
the forecast ahead is looking better so hopefully will be out and about soon
Have a good weekend
