Fun Friday - light painting

Fun Friday - light painting

Today I will keep with my Fun Friday posts and this week it is back to light painting which I have been having a lot of fun doing

So what is light painting let me try to explain, actually let me cheat and copy and paste how I explained it in a previous post and was happy with it lOL

Light painting is basically photography’s rebellious cousin who skipped art school and went straight to rave school. Instead of brushes and canvas, you use flashlights, sparklers, glow sticks, or anything that creates light
You set your camera on a tripod, open the shutter for a few seconds or minutes, and then whoosh, you draw in the air with light. The camera sees all the glowing trails and goes, “Oh, cool, I’ll just record that like it’s normal.” And voilà—you’ve got a photo that hopefully you think is cool .

It’s like finger painting, but for grown-ups who still believe in magic and own more lenses than socks.

Which reminds me I have noticed a few of my socks are getting holes in them, time to buy some more or I will have more lenses than socks lOL

Starting with this one taken at the end of East Beach here in New Bedford MA

The lightning in this shot was added in PHotoshop, something I rarely do, adding something that wasn't there inthe photo, but I was playing around on this one and kind of liked it

and by the other pier, I tried something different here, did the light painting with one torch on the walk way and then ran onto the pier and used another torch to try and brighten it up

I think the second one and the last one are my favorites, but they are all really good. What fun results these always end up giving you!

It’s amazing how just a few seconds of light can create a whole scene.

That first one came out really cool. Did you use sparklers to get those white flares? It came out so balanced, very cool. The lightning was a fun addition on that other one, it's art, so why not? You are getting really good at that!

Good morning, Mr. @tattoodjay, how are you?

I love it when you add light paintings to your photos; they all turned out beautifully, especially the second-to-last shot with the lightning in the background.

Have a great day!
